What Are CS:GO Radar Commands?

As you can easily guess, they are commands you can input via console to customize the radar appearance and functions in CS:GO. From adjusting the scale of your radar to setting the distance from which your radar will start detecting enemies, you can use the commands from our list to fine tune every single aspect of your radar in CS:GO.

The majority of CS:GO radar commands only work on your client side. However, some of the commands from our list will change the global settings of the radar at server level, which means they will affect all the players.

It’s worth noting some of the CS:GO radar commands will require you to activate sv_cheats beforehand, as they are going to affect the normal mechanics of the game. An example of this is radarvisdistance, because you can use it to detect enemies even when they are far away from you. This is why you will need admin rights to run some of these commands, as they’re cheat-protected codes.

Likewise, the CS:GO radar commands that change the configuration of the server will also require you to have admin rights, otherwise they won’t work.

Now that you know what CS:GO radar commands are, and you have the full list of them, let’s see how you can use them in the game via console.

How to Use CS:GO Radar Commands

Here is how you can use any of the 12 CS:GO radar commands from our list to adjust the settings of your radar in the game:

  • Press the “~” key to launch the console
  • Pick the command you want to input
  • Assign the corresponding argument to the command
  • Hit Enter
  • The command will execute automatically and adjust the settings of your radar

For example, if you want to keep the radar always centered around your position, you need to input the cl_radar_always_centered command and assign the “1” value to it, resulting in the following: cl_radar_always_centered 1. Simply input it via console and hit Enter, and it will take effect immediately.

How to Activate and Use Cheat Protected CS:GO Radar Commands

As we have previously mentioned, some of the radar commands require you to activate sv_cheats before using them, as they are cheat-protected commands. Here’s how you can do it, so you can use them without restrictions:

  • Press the  “~” to launch the console
  • Input the following command: sv_cheats 1
  • Hit Enter
  • Now you can use the cheat-protected CS:GO radar commands without restrictions

The commands that belong to this category are the following: radarvispow, radarvismethod, radarvismaxdot, and radarvisdistance. Upon setting sv_cheats to “1”, you can use them without restrictions. For example, you can set the radarvisdistance to detect enemies at any distance, bringing you a supreme advantage over the opposing team.

Simply enter it, hit Enter and it will take effect immediately, making the radar disappear from the screen.

If you want to make it appear again, simply assign the “1” argument to the command, which will result in the following: cl_drawhud_force_radar 1. Automatically, the radar will pop up.

How to Make Your Radar Bigger in CS:GO

If you are wondering how do I make my radar bigger in CSGO, you need to use the command cl_radar_scale and adjust it accordingly. Play around with the values in order to accomplish your desired results.

However, since you want to make it bigger, you can go ahead and assign it an argument such as “1.3”, resulting in the following: cl_radar_scale 1.3. Just hit Enter and the appearance of the radar will change automatically.

How to Make Your Radar Smaller in CS:GO

If you want to reduce the size of the radar, you can simply use a smaller value as the argument. For example, you can go ahead and use a small value such as “0.4”, which will result in the following: cl_radar_scale 0.4. Instantly upon inputting it, the radar will become smaller. You can play around with different values until hitting the sweet spot.

Zoom In and Out at Will

You can do practically anything radar wise thanks to these commands, and it includes zooming in and out at will. For this you will need to bind specific commands to the “+” and “-” keys, and here you have the code you need to input via console:

bind KP_plus “increasevar cl_radar_scale 0.25 1.0 0.05”; bind KP_minus “increasevar cl_radar_scale 0.25 1.0 -0.05”

Simply input it via console and hit Enter, and it will take effect immediately. You will be able to zoom in and out by clicking the “+” and “-” keys respectively.
