CS2 Agents Database
Every equippable character model in Counter-Strike 2 — all 63 agents across the Shattered Web, Broken Fang, and Riptide collections, organized by side, rarity grade, and faction. Agents are purely cosmetic: they replace the default map-based player model without changing hitboxes or gameplay.
What Are Agents in CS2?
For the first two decades of Counter-Strike, you didn't choose your character — the map did. Play Mirage and you got one set of models; play Nuke and you got another. That changed on November 18, 2019, when Valve launched Operation Shattered Web and introduced agents: purchasable, equippable character skins that override the default model on any map. It was the biggest cosmetic addition to the game since weapon skins arrived in 2013, and it carried over intact when CS:GO became Counter-Strike 2.
Agents work like any other inventory item. You earn or buy one, equip it for the Counter-Terrorist or Terrorist side (each agent belongs to exactly one side), and it replaces your default model everywhere. Each agent has its own outfit, voice lines, and backstory written by Valve — from FBI Special Agent Ava to the theatrical heist crew of The Professionals. Unlike weapon skins there is no float value, no wear, and no StatTrak: every copy of a given agent is identical.
Three operations added agents to the game, and no new ones have been released since. That fixed supply is a big part of why the rarer grades keep climbing on the market.
Operation Shattered Web
November 18, 2019The collection that started it all — the first time CS players could pick their own character model. Includes Special Agent Ava, The Elite Mr. Muhlik, and Lt. Commander Ricksaw.
22 agentsOperation Broken Fang
December 3, 2020Added the heist-themed Professionals crew, including all five Sir Bloody Darryl variants, plus Cmdr. Mae 'Dead Cold' Jamison for the CT side.
20 agentsOperation Riptide
September 21, 2021The most recent agent drop: Gendarmerie Nationale medics, Guerrilla Warfare fighters like Crasswater The Forgotten, and SEAL Frogman commanders.
21 agentsAgent Rarity Grades
Agents use four rarity grades, mirroring the color language of weapon skins. Grade is fixed per agent and — together with popularity and dwindling supply — is the main driver of market price.
Distinguished
16 agentsThe blue entry grade. Standard operatives like squad soldiers and footsoldiers — typically the most affordable way into agent skins.
Exceptional
16 agentsThe purple grade. Named specialists with more distinctive outfits and voice lines, such as Little Kev and Getaway Sally.
Superior
15 agentsThe pink grade. Standout characters with unique designs, including Number K, Safecracker Voltzmann, and Bloody Darryl The Strapped.
Master Agent
16 agentsThe red top grade, labelled Master Agent in-game. The rarest and most sought-after models — all five Sir Bloody Darryl variants, Cmdr. Frank 'Wet Sox' Baroud, and Special Agent Ava sit here.
Counter-Terrorist Agents (29)
CT agents draw from real-world special forces and law enforcement: SWAT commanders, FBI agents, SEAL frogmen, France's Gendarmerie Nationale, Germany's KSK, and the British SAS.

Agent Factions
Every agent belongs to a faction — the unit or crew named after the pipe in its full item name (for example, "Number K | The Professionals"). CT factions are modelled on real special forces and police units, while T factions are Valve's fictional criminal organizations, several of which have appeared in Counter-Strike lore since the original game.
Counter-Terrorist Factions

Terrorist Factions

The largest single faction is The Professionalswith ten agents — a tongue-in-cheek heist gang led by "your friendly neighborhood psychopath" Sir Bloody Darryl, who alone accounts for five Master Agent variants (Miami, Silent, Skullhead, Royale, and Loudmouth) plus the Superior-grade Bloody Darryl The Strapped. On the CT side, SWAT is the deepest bench with seven agents split across Broken Fang and Riptide, while Guerrilla Warfaresupplies eight of the Terrorists' most distinctive jungle-camouflage models from Riptide — the ones most often cited in visibility debates.
How to Get Agents
During each operation, agents were rewards on the battle pass track — you completed missions, earned stars, and redeemed them for agents of your chosen grade. All three operations are long over, so the only sources today are the Steam Community Market, third-party skin marketplaces, and player-to-player trades. Agents cannot be unboxed from cases, dropped after matches, or crafted through trade-up contracts, which makes the existing pool the entire supply.
Pricing follows the grade ladder: Distinguished agents are usually the cheapest entry point, Exceptional and Superior sit in the middle, and Master Agents — particularly the popular Sir Bloody Darryl variants — carry the biggest premiums. Because supply only shrinks, well-liked agents have historically drifted upward over time; check a live marketplace for current values before buying, and see our trading guideif you're new to skin trading.
Do Agents Affect Gameplay?
Mechanically, no. Every player model in CS2 — default or agent — shares the same hitboxes, so an agent never makes you harder to hit. What agents can change is visual contrast. The community has debated since Shattered Web whether certain models blend into certain backdrops: dark agents in shadowed corners, or camouflage-pattern Guerrilla Warfare agents against foliage-heavy maps. It is a contrast argument, not a hitbox one — and it is why many competitive players simply equip nothing and keep the higher-contrast defaults.
The practical takeaway: agents are allowed in official matchmaking including Premier, and picking one is an aesthetic choice, not a competitive one. If you care about spotting enemies rather than being spotted, your video settings matter far more than which model your opponents wear.
CS2 Agents FAQ
- How do I get agents in CS2?
- Agents were originally earned through the battle passes of Operations Shattered Web, Broken Fang, and Riptide. All three operations have ended, so agents no longer drop in-game. Today you buy them on the Steam Community Market or third-party marketplaces, or receive them in trades. They cannot be unboxed from cases or crafted via trade-up contracts.
- Do agents affect gameplay?
- By design, no — every agent uses the same hitboxes as the default models, so there is no mechanical advantage. The community does debate visibility: some darker or camouflaged agents are argued to blend into certain map backgrounds better than the default models, which is why some competitive players stick to defaults. Agents are allowed in official matchmaking and Premier.
- How do I equip an agent?
- Open your Inventory, select the agent, and choose Equip. Counter-Terrorist agents can only be equipped for the CT side and Terrorist agents for the T side, and you can have one agent equipped per side at a time. Once equipped, the agent replaces the default map-based character model in every mode where custom agents are enabled.
- What are Master Agents?
- Master Agent is the highest of the four rarity grades, shown in red. There are 16 of them across the three collections — including the five Sir Bloody Darryl variants of The Professionals, Cmdr. Davida 'Goggles' Fernandez, and Chef d'Escadron Rouchard. As the rarest grade with fixed supply, they generally command the highest market prices.
- Do agents have wear, floats, or StatTrak?
- No. Unlike weapon skins, agents have no float value, no wear tiers, and no StatTrak variant — every copy of an agent is identical. Their price is driven purely by rarity grade, popularity, and remaining market supply, since no new copies have entered the game since Operation Riptide ended.
