Frequently Asked Questions
- Where does this trend data come from?
- CSDB records the settings of its 1011 tracked professionals once a day and stores the aggregate — median eDPI, resolution and DPI adoption, display mode, gear market share and crosshair characteristics. The series is CSDB's own observation record; it is not reconstructed from anywhere, because the underlying settings dataset is a moving snapshot with no history of its own.
- Why does a chart say there is not enough data yet?
- Because there genuinely is not. Daily recording began on the date shown above, and a line drawn through one or two observations would imply a trend that has not been measured. Charts appear as their series accumulate rather than being drawn early and quietly corrected later.
- Do these percentages describe all professional players?
- They describe the 1011 professionals CSDB tracks, which skews toward players with published settings. Every figure carries the sample it was computed over, and buckets with fewer than five players are excluded so a rounding artefact never reads as a trend.
