How Faceit ELO Works
Every player starts at 1,000 ELO (Level 4) after placement. Wins and losses move you roughly 20–50 ELO based on the rating gap between the teams, and your level updates the moment your ELO crosses a boundary. Unlike Premier's seasonal CS Rating, Faceit ELO never resets and has no decay — the ladder is fully open-ended, which is why the top of Level 10 stretches from 2,001 past 4,000+ where professional players queue.
Challenger
The Challenger badge marks the top 1,000 players per region inside Level 10 each season. It's positional: gaining ELO isn't enough if the players above you gain more.
Faceit vs Premier
Faceit and Valve's Premier mode rank the same game on different ladders. If you want to see how CS2's own rating spreads across the player base, our CS2 rank distribution page tracks Premier ratings and the legacy competitive ranks side by side.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What are the Faceit levels in CS2?
- Faceit uses 10 skill levels tied to ELO: Level 1 covers 100–500 ELO, levels 2–9 climb in bands of 150–250 ELO, and Level 10 starts at 2,001 ELO with no cap. Your level updates automatically as your ELO crosses each boundary.
- What percentage of players are Faceit Level 10?
- 12.4% of ranked CS2 players on Faceit are Level 10 (236,601 of 1,913,082 ranked players, counted from the official regional rankings in July 2026).
- How much ELO do you gain or lose per Faceit match?
- Standard matchmaking wins and losses move you roughly 20–50 ELO depending on the ELO gap between the teams — beating stronger opponents pays more. There is no ELO decay in CS2 Faceit matchmaking.
- What is Faceit Challenger?
- Challenger is the seasonal badge for the top 1,000 players in each region's Level-10 pool. It's positional, not an ELO band — you hold it only while you stay inside your region's top 1,000.
- Is Faceit Level 10 better than Premier or Global Elite?
- They measure different ladders. Faceit's Level 10 pool is deep — it spans 2,001 ELO up to 4,000+ where pros play — so a mid Level 10 is usually comparable to a very high Premier rating. See our CS2 rank distribution page for the Premier side of the comparison.
