CS2 odds explained
Decimal odds are the norm in esports and the easiest to reason about: your total return is stake × odds, and that total includes the stake back. So 2.00 doubles your money, 1.50 turns 100 into 150, and 4.00 turns 100 into 400. Divide 100 by the decimal price and you get the implied probability — the chance the bookmaker is pricing that outcome at.
Fractional odds quote profit only, so 1/1 and decimal 2.00 are the same bet. American odds show what a 100 stake wins at positive prices (+150), or what you must stake to win 100 at negative ones (−150). The converter below moves between all three.
CS2 odds converter and margin calculator
Put in the two prices from a match and this shows the implied probabilities, the same price in every format, and — the part no other CS2 betting page shows you — how much of the board is the bookmaker’s margin.
The two implied chances add up to 105.05%, not 100%. That extra 5.05% is the bookmaker’s margin, and it is built into every price on the board. Strip it out and the fair odds on this match would be about 1.73 and 2.36 — always longer than what you are offered. Shopping the same match across two books is the only reliable way to pay less of it.
Decimal odds include your stake: 2.00 returns double, not triple. Fractional quotes profit only, so 1/1 and 2.00 are the same price. American odds show what a 100 stake wins at positive prices, or what you must stake to win 100 at negative ones.
Where the bookmaker’s margin is
Add up the implied probabilities on any CS2 match and they come to more than 100%. A two-way market priced at 1.65 and 2.25 implies 60.6% and 44.4% — 105% of a match that only has 100% of outcomes. That extra 5% is the overround, and it is the sportsbook equivalent of a house edge: charged on every bet, whichever side you take, whether you win or lose.
It is also the one thing you have any control over. Odds differ between books on the same fixture, so the same bet can carry a 3% margin at one and 8% at another. Comparing prices before you stake is the only dependable way to pay less of it — and it matters far more than any tipster, system or bonus.
Skin betting is not the same thing
Two different products get called “CS2 betting”. Cash betting at a licensed sportsbook is a regulated activity with identity checks, deposit limits and a regulator you can complain to. Skin betting stakes CS2 items on matches, usually through sites with no gambling licence, no meaningful age verification, and no route of appeal if the balance vanishes.
Both appear on this site — the skin side is covered across our CS2 gambling pages — but they are not equivalent in risk, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
5 sportsbooks taking CS2 bets
Sites we hold a referral code for that run an esports sportsbook covering CS2. Not a ranking — order is commercial, as it is across the gambling section. Where a cell reads — we have not verified that detail.

Before you place a bet
- Compare the same match at two books. The margin varies enough between operators to matter more than anything else on this page.
- Prefer a book licensed where you live. A licence means identity checks, enforced limits and somewhere to complain. An offshore book accepting your sign-up offers none of that.
- Do the reading you already have access to. Head-to-head records, player form and rankings are free here and beat any tip.
- A bonus is a reason to deposit, not an edge. Free-bet offers carry wagering requirements, and the margin applies to every turn of that wagering.
- If it stops being fun, stop. BeGambleAware, GamCare and Gambling Therapy are free, confidential and independent of any operator.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is CS2 betting?
- Betting real money on the outcome of professional Counter-Strike 2 matches — which team wins, the map handicap, total rounds, and similar markets. It is a different thing from CS2 skin gambling: you are betting on a real esports fixture with a result decided by the players, not spinning a case or a wheel run by the operator.
- How do CS2 betting odds work?
- Decimal odds are the usual format in esports. Multiply your stake by the odds to get the total return including the stake, so 2.00 doubles your money and 1.50 returns 150 on a 100 stake. Divide 100 by the decimal odds to get the implied probability — 2.00 means the book is pricing that outcome at 50%. Add both sides of a match together and the total exceeds 100%; that excess is the bookmaker’s margin.
- What is the overround, and why does it matter?
- It is the bookmaker’s built-in edge. On a two-way CS2 match the implied probabilities might come to 105%, meaning you are being priced as though there is 105% of a match to bet on. That 5% is the margin, it applies whichever side you back, and it is the single biggest reason most bettors lose over time. Comparing the same match at two books is the only dependable way to pay less of it.
- Is CS2 betting legal where I live?
- It depends entirely on your country, and in several the answer is no. Licensed sportsbooks geo-block the markets they are not permitted to serve, but offshore books often do not, and a site accepting your registration is not evidence that it is lawful for you to use. Check your own jurisdiction, and prefer an operator licensed in it if one exists.
- Is skin betting the same as CS2 esports betting?
- No, and the difference matters. Skin betting stakes CS2 items on matches, usually through sites with no gambling licence and no age verification worth the name. Cash esports betting at a licensed sportsbook is a regulated product with identity checks and a regulator to complain to. The pages on this site cover both, but they are not equivalent in risk.
- How do I set limits or get help?
- Every licensed sportsbook offers deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion in account settings — set them before you bet, not after. If betting has stopped being fun or you are chasing losses, free confidential help is available from BeGambleAware and GamCare in the UK (National Gambling Helpline 0808 8020 133, 24 hours), Gambling Therapy internationally, and the National Council on Problem Gambling in the US on 1-800-GAMBLER.
How we put these pages together
- Every figure comes from a primary source.Licences and operating companies are read from the operator’s own footer or terms; Trustpilot scores from Trustpilot itself; closures from DNS, WHOIS or the operator’s own notice. Last checked .
- Unverified means blank, not guessed.Where a cell shows a dash we have not confirmed it yet. Most pages in this niche state a bonus figure for every site; when we went looking for those numbers on the operators’ own sites, we usually could not find them. We would rather show you a gap than a number that was true a year ago.
- Referral codes are ours, read from our own affiliate links. Not copied from another list. Where a site tracks by link and has no code you can type, we say so instead of publishing a code that would fail.
- The order is commercial and we say so. Position is arranged with operators. It is not a quality ranking, and we do not present it as one.
- We publish the negatives, including for partners. Regulator bans, suppressed review scores, missing licences and closures all appear on the page regardless of whether we earn from that operator.
- We are paid by the operators. Outbound links are affiliate links. That is exactly why the four points above exist — an affiliate page that only prints good news is an advert.
