The MAC-10 is T-side's $1,050 money printer. It sprints at 240 units/second, stays surprisingly accurate while running, fires at 800 RPM, and pays $600 per kill — double a rifle's reward. On the round after a pistol win, few purchases swing an economy harder.

MAC-10 in CS2: How It Plays

This is the purest run-and-gun weapon in CS2. Moving inaccuracy barely punishes the MAC-10 at close range, so the correct playstyle is genuinely to sprint at people — strafe through smoke, around corners, and into faces while holding the trigger. The spray kicks up and then wanders, but inside 10 metres at 800 RPM it hardly matters. What does matter is distance: 57.5% armor penetration and a steep 0.82 range modifier mean armored enemies at mid range shrug off half your damage.

Buy it on anti-eco rounds (especially after winning the pistol) and on "rich force" rounds where you want armor plus a gun for under $2,100. Three MAC-10 kills generate $1,800 — often the difference between a broken economy and a full AK buy next round. Against full-buy CTs with helmets, though, it is a liability beyond close range; upgrade or play positions that force the fight into a phone booth.

Pro Tips for the MAC-10

1

Run at full speed while shooting — the MAC-10's moving accuracy at close range is the whole point of the gun.

2

Aim upper-chest and let the climb take you to the head; at 800 RPM the headshot finds itself.

3

Buy it after pistol-round wins: $600 per kill against an eco can bank an extra $1,800–$3,000 for the team.

4

Force the fight close — smoke or flash your way into 10-metre range where armor penetration stops mattering.

5

With 100 reserve rounds, don't be shy about pre-spraying corners on entries.

6

Drop it for any rifle on the ground once the anti-eco job is done — its value ends when helmets arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the MAC-10 give a $600 kill reward?
All SMGs except the P90 pay $600 per kill — double the rifle reward — to make them worth buying on anti-eco rounds when raw firepower isn't needed. The MAC-10 is the cheapest way to farm that bonus, which is why it defines round two after a T pistol win.
MAC-10 or MP7 on T-side?
The MAC-10 ($1,050) wins on price, movement speed, and run-and-gun accuracy; the MP7 ($1,500) shoots straighter at mid range and penetrates armor slightly better. For pure anti-eco rushing take the MAC-10; if the enemy might force with armor, the MP7's extra reach earns its $450.
Is the MAC-10 good against armor?
Poorly — 57.5% armor penetration is among the worst of any primary. Against helmeted full-buys you need to be point-blank or aiming at heads. That weakness is by design: the MAC-10 is an economy weapon for anti-ecos, not a rifle substitute.
How much damage does the MAC-10 do in CS2?
The MAC-10 deals 29 base damage per hit with 57.5% armor penetration. Headshot multiplier is 4x, meaning a headshot deals 116 damage before armor reduction.
How much does the MAC-10 cost in CS2?
The MAC-10 costs $1,050 to buy and gives a $600 kill reward. It's available to terrorist players.
What is the MAC-10 fire rate?
The MAC-10 fires at 800 rounds per minute (RPM) with a 30-round magazine. Reload time is 2.57 seconds.
How many skins does the MAC-10 have in CS2?
The MAC-10 currently has 55 skins available in Counter-Strike 2, ranging across multiple rarity tiers from Consumer Grade to Covert.
Is the MAC-10 good in CS2?
The MAC-10 is T-side's $1,050 money printer. It sprints at 240 units/second, stays surprisingly accurate while running, fires at 800 RPM, and pays $600 per kill — double a rifle's reward. On the round after a pistol win, few purchases swing an economy harder.
