These Dust 2 lineups were last reviewed on 4 July 2026. 2 tracked CS2 updates have shipped since (most recently 4 August 2026) — including a content update, so it is worth re-checking anything that lands near changed geometry. We track Valve’s game files daily; map geometry itself is not yet in that extraction, so this is a staleness signal rather than a per-lineup verification.

The lineups below combined into standard set-pieces — the throw order, who they suit, and what each grenade buys. These are common versions, not the only ones.
The bread-and-butter Dust 2 A hit. The short smoke is what turns long control into a site take — without it the cat player kills the plant.
Utility, in order: Long Smoke → Long Flash → Long Molotov → Short Smoke
Fast but not mindless: the smokes deny the two strongest CT angles, so the fight is close-quarters where the rushing side is favoured.
Utility, in order: B Smokes Stack → B Flash
One self-throwable smoke that removes the CT AWP from the round. The highest-value single grenade on the map.
Utility, in order: Mid Smoke
Stand at T spawn on the left side. Look straight down the long corridor. Throw a smoke grenade that lands in the middle of long, blocking CT vision completely.
Position at T spawn. Throw a smoke toward short stairs area. Blocks CT short players and prevents rotations.
Stand in mid area and throw a smoke down the main mid corridor. Blocks CT sightlines from both sides.
Throw multiple smokes to cover B site completely - one for B main, one for upper B, one for CT spawn rotations. Requires timing.
Position at long corridor entrance. Throw a flash grenade that bounces and blinds CTs holding long.
From long entrance, throw a molotov down the corridor. Denies space and forces CTs back.
From A site, throw a smoke toward catwalk. Blocks long pushes and upper mid visibility.
From lobby area, throw a smoke that lands on A site. Blocks entry and forces CTs to retake.
From short stairs, throw a flash that bounces into A site. Blinds CT defenders before rushing.
Stand at B main entrance. Throw a flash into B site. Blinds defenders and allows team to push.
Throw a molotov into A site to deny space and force rotations.
Throw an HE grenade in mid passage to damage and push back T players.
From A site, throw an HE down long corridor. Damages T executers rotating through long.
From B site, throw a flash that bounces into B main. Blinds incoming T players.
Position in rafters and throw an HE down to B site. Damages B executers.
The best smokes on Dust 2 are those that cut off CT rotations and block key angles. Check the "Smokes" filter to see all smoke lineups. Prioritize easy and medium difficulty ones first.
Jump into a private match or deathmatch server, and practice each lineup multiple times until you can execute it consistently. Start with easy difficulty lineups before advancing to harder ones.
Each lineup is labeled with "T" or "CT" side. T side lineups are for attacking executes, while CT side lineups are for retakes and defense. Use the side filter to find what you need.
Easy lineups can be learned in minutes and are very forgiving. Medium requires more practice. Hard lineups need precise positioning and timing. Start with easy lineups in competitive.
4 of the 15 Dust 2 lineups are marked Solo-friendly. Those are the ones one player can throw and benefit from immediately — taking map control, cutting a rotation or a sniper angle, or denying a position you are about to hold. Utility thrown into a bombsite to open it up for an entry is not on that list: without teammates moving behind it, it buys nothing. Use the Solo Queue filter to see only those.
Lineups can be executed from multiple positions with slight variations. These are commonly-used versions. Once you master these, you can experiment with alternative approaches.
