The Ultimate Mirage Nade Guide For CS2

Essential Mirage Nades

Mirage is one of the longest-standing maps in the Active Duty Map pool, and is one of the most popularly played ones for casual players. Since you’ll be playing Mirage a lot, let’s make sure you’re good at it by learning the most essential grenade lineups on this map. In this guide, we’re going to show you the best smokes, molotovs, flashbangs, and HE grenades to help you become a better player.

Mirage Introduction

20240328192507_1

Mirage was added to Counter-Strike Global Offensive in 2013, and is one of the most recognizable maps to non-Counter-Strike players tailing behind Dust 2. The map is based in Morocco, in a Middle Eastern town.

Though the map has gotten more balanced over the lifetime of Counter-Strike, Mirage is still considered to slightly favor the Counter-Terrorist side, meaning being on the offense is trickier. However, there is a lot of room for Terrorists to make use of utility, as the map has open skyboxes to hurl grenades over walls and buildings.

Grenades are crucial on Mirage as they help block vision, flush out opponents, gain map control, and most importantly, control choke points, which there are a lot of around the map.

Mirage Smokes

Smokes on Mirage are essential as they help obscure vision from enemy players, making it easier for your team to advance throughout the map and take control. There are several crucial smoke lineups for each bomb site, so let’s take a look.

1. Mid Window Smoke From T Spawn

This first smoke is probably the most important smoke lineup you must know on Mirage, as it will land on Mid Window to help you and your team take Mid control.

After spawning, look for the trash can, stand next to it, and make sure you are getting into the corner. Next, look up to the building in front of you, where you should see a door on the top floor.

Aim your crosshair at the top-right panel of the door, and then, move your crosshair upwards until you have reached the mid-point of the paint right under the roof. Next, we are going to do a moving jump throw. Hold your “D” key for around half a second, and then perform a jump throw.

This smoke lineup might take a while to master, but if done properly, can be extremely rewarding in your future Mirage games.

2. CT Spawn/Ticket Booth Smoke From T Spawn

Moving onto the A execute smokes, we have the CT Spawn smoke which will also cover the Ticket Booth area, which is a crucial angle to have blocked off.

Once you are exiting T Spawn and heading towards the A Ramp area from the bottom, you will notice an angled corner on the right side wall. Line yourself up in the middle of this angled corner.

Next, look upwards ahead in the direction of CT Spawn, where you should see a tall building on the left. You should also notice that there is a little pole sticking out of the top of the building. Aim your crosshair at the center of this pole, and then perform a jump throw.

This smoke is going to land on top of the box next to the Ticket Booth, which will block off the entire CT Spawn area.

3. Stairs Smoke From T Spawn

The second requirement for a proper A site smoke execute is to smoke off the Stairs angle, which is an incredibly common place for a Counter-Terrorist to be playing from. Though you might have remembered the Stairs smoke from Global Offensive, there is a better one for CS2.

For this smoke, climb up to the top of the platform outside of A Ramp. And then, look for the wooden beams and stand behind the middle one. Next, look towards A, where you should see the corner of a building right in front of you.

You will notice that there is a dark spot on the corner of the wall. Aim your crosshair at this dark spot, and then move your crosshair slightly to the right. Once everything is set up, throw your smoke normally.

This smoke will not cover Sandwich, preventing any pesky Counter-Terrorists from hiding inside it.

4. Jungle Smoke From T Spawn

The final piece to the A site execute puzzle is the Jungle smoke, which will block off Connector and Jungle, making it an essential smoke.

To smoke Jungle from T Spawn, climb up the platform outside of A Ramp, and walk to the front area of it. Next, stand in the middle pillar between the two window-like structures on the wall.

Now, look forward to the direction of the A site, where you should see a stone piece sticking out right in front of you. Aim at the top-right left corner of the stone, and then move your crosshair slightly downwards and to the left. Finally, throw your smoke normally.

This smoke will entirely block off the Jungle area without leaving the slightest of gaps, allowing your team to enter the site with ease.

5. Market Window Smoke From Outside B Apps

The B bomb site has one very important smoke you need to know, which is targeted towards the Market Window area behind the B site.

When exiting the TV Room area towards B Apartments, immediately get into the corner to the right of the exit way. You should be standing across the entrance to the Underpass at this point.

Next, look at the direction of the B site, where you will see a very tall building in front of you. Aim your crosshair at the top corner of the building, and then perform a jump throw.

This is one of the easiest smoke lineups in the entire game, so make sure you have it drilled in your head.

Mirage Molotovs & Incendiaries

Molotovs are almost just as important as smokes on Mirage, as there are several positions where you must throw them at. We are going to take a look at some of the best molotovs and incendiary grenades for both the Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist sides.

1. Sandwich Molotov From T Spawn

Sandwich is a very annoying corner to clear when entering the A site as a Terrorist, as it will leave you open to multiple angles on the bomb site. So, let’s throw a molotov there.

For this molotov lineup, stand on top of the platform outside of A Ramp. Line yourself up with the right side of the building.

Once you look forward, you will notice a “T” shape in the bricks. There is a very visible dark dot on the very top of the wall, directly on top of the “T” shape. Aim your crosshair at this dot and throw your molotov normally.

This molotov should be thrown as your team is about to exit A Ramp, giving them an opportunity to take an easy fight against a potential Counter-Terrorist hiding there.

2. Under Palace Molotov From Palace

Another cheeky position to clear out when entering A is the Under Palace angle, which is just extremely hard to deal with without a molotov. If you are a Palace player, here is how you can support your team.

There are three large pillars in the middle of the Palace area. From the left side, line yourself up with the left-hand side of the middle pillar.

Now, look for the slanted corner, and aim your crosshair at the very top portion of it, just under the part where the wall changes to a darker shade. Now, gear up for a run throw. You will run until you cross the doorway in front of you.

This molotov will bounce off the wall, go in the middle of the gap on the wooden platform, and then land directly at the Under Palace area.

3. A Default Incendiary From CT Spawn

It is very common for Terrorists to smoke off CT Spawn, and you are left behind a cloud of smoke while the Terrorists have breached into the site. Here is an incendiary grenade that lands on Default, which can delay the plant.

If CT Spawn is smoked off, you should have no issues going to the far corner across the Ticket Booth position, which is where you will stand for this lineup.

Next, face towards the A site, more towards the A Ramp area. Look all the way up, where you should see a tall building with hay on its roof. Aim your crosshair at the top-left corner of this ray roof, and then throw your molotov normally.

This incendiary grenade can help you prevent the plant from happening, and buy time for the CT Spawn smoke to fade.

4. Tetris Incendiary From Jungle

If you are the Mid player and sense an incoming rush from the A Ramp area, here is a useful incendiary lineup for Tetris to buy your teammates some time.

In the Jungle area, go to the corner of the wall which is across Stairs and under a lot of shadows. This should allow you to face directly at the A Ramp area.

Next, look at the building furthest away from you. You will notice a dark spot leaking down from the building. Aim your crosshair at the general area of this dark spot, more on the lower portion. Finally, throw your incendiary grenade normally.

This incendiary will go past Stairs and land on the Tetris area, which can also be a useful setup for your teammates on A site to peek out.

5. Early B Apps Incendiary Grenade From B Site

This final incendiary grenade is used by Counter-Terrorists to prevent Terrorists from quickly rushing into the B site very early into the round, so you will immediately throw it when the round has just started.

For this incendiary grenade lineup, stand on the left side of the Ninja Box, right at the position where Terrorists would normally plant the bomb. Make sure you are lined up with the left side of the wall.

Next, look at the ground in front of you, where you should see a pile of wood lying down on. You will notice there is a small piece sticking out on the left. Aim your crosshair at the end of this little wooden piece, and then perform a jump throw.

This incendiary grenade will land very deep into B Apartments, where Terrorists would enter from.

Mirage Flashbangs

Flashbangs are a great way to take your gameplay to the next level, as full-blinding enemy players mean you don’t necessarily need god-like aim to get kills. Here is how you can outsmart your enemies by making their screens white.

1. A Site Flashbang From T Spawn

Entering the A site isn’t the easiest thing to do in the world, which is why a well-placed flashbang can make a world of difference. Here is one of the best flashbangs to throw to help your teammates enter the site.

After exiting T Spawn towards A Ramp, you will see a locked door on the right-side wall. Line yourself up in the middle of this door.

Next, when you face toward the A site, you will notice a lamp sticking out of the wall in front of you. Aim at the top of this lamp, where there should be a pointy detail at the very top. Once everything is set up, throw your flashbang normally.

This flashbang ensures your teammates will not get blinded when they exit A Ramp, but Counter-Terrorists looking in that direction will.

2. B Site Flashbang From Outside B Apps

If your teammates are looking to rush into the B bomb site, here is an amazing flashbang you can throw to support them.

Outside B Apps, look for the wooden beam that holds the entrance to the Underpass. You will line yourself up with this wooden beam, and then walk all the way back until you hit the back wall.

Next, look at the B Apps building, where there should be a window. Aim your crosshair at the bottom-right corner of the window and prepare to perform a running jump throw. You will perform the jump throw when you are about to bump into the wooden beam.

This flashbang will blind almost all exposed positions on the B bomb site, allowing your team to get some easy kills.

3. Mid Flashbang From Window

This next flashbang is for Counter-Terrorists who often play in the Window area. If you would like to peek Mid and set up a flashbang for yourself, here’s how.

In the Window room, bump yourself into the corner of the left side of the table, which is the closest side to the window itself.

Next, look forward and aim your crosshair at the general area of the top-right corner of the room. Do not directly aim it at the corner, or else it won’t bounce off the wall properly. When everything is ready, throw your flash normally.

You should immediately start running to peek out after throwing the flashbang, as this is used to help yourself.

4. A Ramp Flashbang From Under Palace

If you are playing on the Counter-Terrorist side and are standing in the Under Palace position, A Ramp becomes a massive threat if opponents are pushing out. Here is a flashbang that can help you set yourself up for success.

While you are in the Under Palace position, bump yourself into the corner that is right next to the stairs, and on the opposite side of the bricks.

Next, look at the wooden beam to your right. Aim your crosshair in the mid-point of the bricks and the wooden platform above you, while keeping your crosshair on the beam. Finally, you are going to perform a jump throw.

Right after you throw the flashbang, prepare to swing as you should have blinded all enemies there.

5. B Apps Flash From Back Site

This next flashbang is used to help your Counter-Terrorist teammate peek into the B Apartments. You are not flashing for yourself.

For this flashbang, stand in front of the Market Window, where you should immediately find a corner to its left (if you are facing the B site). Bump yourself into this corner.

Next, look at the roof of the B site, where there should be a light green blanket covering the entirety of the site. You will notice there is a dark line under the blanket. Aim your crosshair at the top of this line, and then throw your flashbang normally.

Your teammate should be looking away, as this flashbang will blind them if they aren’t. However, your teammate will get some easy frags, no questions asked.

Mirage Grenades

Finally, we’re going to move on to the final grenade, which is the HE grenade. HE grenades have a lower impact than other grenades, but that’s only if you don’t know how to use them effectively. Here are some helpful grenades you can use to increase your utility damage.

1. Bench Grenade From B Apps

If you’re a Terrorist looking to push into the B bomb site, here is a grenade that will deal a hefty chunk of damage to players on Bench. In B Apps, you should see a slatted door on the right. Bump yourself into the little corner right behind it.

Look outside the further window, which does not have any railings. Then, aim your crosshair at the bottom of the cloth hanging down the wall, and then prepare for a running throw. Release the grenade once you have passed the steps in front of you.

This grenade will land directly on the Bench area, softening up any player there for your team to clean up.

2. Tetris Grenade From Jungle

This grenade is thrown from the exact same position as the Terris molotov we discussed earlier, and can deal incredible amounts of damage to any player standing on Tetris.

For this grenade, bump yourself into the corner in Jungle, which is right across Stairs. You should be facing towards A Ramp if positioned correctly.

Next, look up, where you should see a series of small wooden planks extending out of the wall. Aim your crosshair at the furthest plank, where your crosshair should be in the middle of it. Finally, throw your grenade normally.

This is a perfect grenade to throw if you are the Mid player and Terrorists are starting to take control of the Tetris area.

3. A Default Grenade From CT Spawn

This grenade can be used right after the previous incendiary lineup we talked about that also lands on A Default. If CT Spawn is smoked and Terrorists are trying to get the bomb down, players who are behind the smoke can use this grenade to deal some devastating damage.

Behind the smoke cloud placed at CT Spawn, go to the far corner of the back wall, which is across the Ticket Booth.

Next, look towards the general direction of the A site, where you will see a tall building with hay on top of its roof. Aim your crosshair at the left corner of the hay pile, and then perform a running jump throw. You will only take one or two steps forward before throwing.

This grenade will land directly on top of anyone trying to plant the bomb in the Default position.

4. Window Smoke Break Grenade

This final grenade is used to set yourself up, as it will break the smoke grenade placed in the Window area so you can peek off it and catch enemy players off guard. Of course, you will only use it if the Window has been smoked off.

In the Window area, stand in the corner of the workbench right in front of the hole to enter Sniper’s Nest. Next, if you look down, there should be a few planks lying on the ground right in front of you.

Aim your crosshair at the lowest plank, and then perform a jumping soft-throw (right-click). This HE grenade will break the Window smoke, allowing you to peek out without having your vision obstructed.

What Are the Best Mirage Nades Executions

Generally, the bomb site that requires the most grenades to execute is the A bomb site. To start off, teams should prioritize having three players to the three smokes on the bomb site, which will cover CT Spawn, Stairs, and Jungle. This is a very standard execute.

To add depth to this execute, players can start hurling flashbangs and molotovs from T Spawn, headed to Sandwich. The team can also have a player from Palace who will throw the molotov to the Under Palace area, enabling the entry fraggers to take a favorable fight.

For the B bomb site, Terrorists generally only need one player throwing grenades. This player can start with the Market Window smoke, and then head to the other side and begin throwing the B site flashes over B Apps to support the team and walk in.

Mirage Nades Summary

In conclusion, Mirage is a map that features a lot of skyboxes and buildings that aren’t too tall, allowing players to easily throw grenade lineups from far away. This allows them to throw grenades from a safe spot, making it easier to abuse good utility usage. Since Mirage is one of the most popularly played maps in the game, the grenade lineups we discussed above will certainly help you increase your win rate on the map.
