The Best Glove and Knife Combos in CS2
Six finishes exist on both items — and matching by colour opens up everything else
Exactly six finishes exist as both a glove and a knife: Fade, Marble Fade, Slaughter, Crimson Web, Forest DDPAT and Case Hardened. Beyond those, matching means matching colour, and that is where the good combos live — a coherent colour-matched pair starts at roughly $70–$80 for both items in worn conditions and scales all the way to five figures. Prices below are cross-market medians from csdb's 13 July 2026 snapshot, and every one is backed by at least three marketplaces.
Gloves and knives share the viewmodel. You look at both of them, together, for the entire match — no other pair of cosmetics is on screen as constantly. That is the case for buying them as one decision rather than two, and it is the reason a $2,000 knife with clashing hands reads worse than a $200 knife with hands that agree with it.
There are two ways to make them agree: match the finish name, or match the dominant colour. The first is a very short list. The second is the useful one.
The six shared finishes
Cross-referencing every glove finish against every knife finish in our database returns six names that appear on both. This is the entire set — there is no seventh.
| Finish | Glove | Knife side | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crimson Web | Specialist Gloves | All 20 knife models | The most complete match in the game — same webbing motif, same red. |
| Case Hardened | Hydra Gloves | All 20 knife models | Cheapest entry point of the six. Blue-heavy on both items. |
| Slaughter | Hand Wraps | 20 models, FN–FT only | Slaughter caps at 0.26 float, so there is no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred on either side. |
| Fade | Specialist Gloves | 20 models, FN and MW only | The glove has all five wears; the knife has two. Their gradients differ noticeably. |
| Marble Fade | Specialist Gloves | 18 models, FN and MW only | Same constraint as Fade. The glove is curated red-and-blue; the blade's gradient is different again. |
| Forest DDPAT | Specialist Gloves | 20 models, all five wears | The quiet one. Genuinely matching camo on both, and nobody runs it. |
Roughly what a name-matched pair costs, taking a mid-priced knife model in each case:
| Combo | Glove | Knife | Pair |
|---|---|---|---|
| Case Hardened (Field-Tested) | Hydra Gloves ~$67 | Flip Knife ~$172 | ~$240 |
| Crimson Web (Field-Tested) | Specialist ~$146 | Flip Knife ~$194 | ~$340 |
| Forest DDPAT (Field-Tested) | Specialist ~$382 | Stiletto ~$129 | ~$510 |
| Marble Fade (glove FT, knife FN) | Specialist ~$151 | Talon Knife ~$605 | ~$760 |
| Slaughter (Field-Tested) | Hand Wraps ~$612 | Flip Knife ~$273 | ~$885 |
| Fade (glove FT, knife FN) | Specialist ~$216 | Karambit ~$2,010 | ~$2,230 |
Note what the wear rules do to the last two rows. Fade and Marble Fade knives only exist in Factory New and Minimal Wear because the finish caps at 0.08 float, so you cannot buy a cheap worn blade to sit alongside a cheap worn glove. Crimson Web, Case Hardened and Forest DDPAT have the full five conditions on both items, which is why they scale down so much further.
Colour matching, which is where the range is
Once you drop the name requirement, everything opens up. We classify the dominant colour of every skin render, and for gloves specifically that classification is overridden by a hand-curated list— render lighting misreads famous finishes badly, so a human call beats the classifier on the 42 gloves where one exists. Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box is curated as purple, Driver Gloves | Snow Leopard as white, Sport Gloves | Vice as pink and blue. Where no override exists, the automatic tag stands.
Here are combos built that way, one per budget band.
Under ~$100 for both
- Green: Hydra Gloves | Emerald (FT, ~$37) with Shadow Daggers | Black Laminate (FT, ~$41). About $78 for a fully coherent green loadout.
- Yellow / sand: Broken Fang Gloves | Yellow-banded (FT, ~$51) with Kukri Knife | Safari Mesh (FT, ~$44). About $95, and the desert palette suits Dust 2 and Anubis.
- Green, alternative: Driver Gloves | Racing Green (FT, ~$35) with Kukri Knife | Forest DDPAT (FT, ~$47). About $82.
~$100–$300
- Purple: Broken Fang Gloves | Needle Point (FT, ~$53) with Gut Knife | Ultraviolet (FT, ~$58). About $111 — the cheapest genuinely striking colour pair in the game, because Ultraviolet is the only widespread purple-primary knife finish.
- Red: Driver Gloves | Rezan the Red (FT, ~$71) with Gut Knife | Crimson Web (FT, ~$73). About $144.
- Blue: Hydra Gloves | Case Hardened (FT, ~$67) with Navaja Knife | Night Stripe (FT, ~$44). About $111.
~$500–$1,500
- Black: Sport Gloves | Nocts (BS, ~$453) with Butterfly Knife | Night (BS, ~$539). About $992 for a Sport Gloves pairing, which is unusual at that price.
- Purple, stepped up: Broken Fang Gloves | Needle Point (FN, ~$241) with Skeleton Knife | Ultraviolet (FN, ~$600). About $841, both Factory New.
- Red, stepped up: Specialist Gloves | Crimson Web (MW, ~$361) with M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web (FT, ~$469). About $830, and it is a name match as well as a colour match.
No budget
- Green: Moto Gloves | Spearmint (FN, ~$7,220) with Karambit | Gamma Doppler – Emerald (FN, ~$8,520). The two most saturated greens in the game on the same screen.
- Purple: Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box (FN, ~$24,570) with Butterfly Knife | Doppler – Phase 2 (FN, ~$4,480). The glove is the most expensive pair in CS2 by a wide margin; the knife is the pink-purple Doppler phase that actually agrees with it.
- Red: Driver Gloves | Crimson Weave (FN, ~$2,800) with Karambit | Doppler – Ruby (FN, ~$7,940). See the most expensive knives for where that blade sits in the wider ranking.
Four rules that make combos work
- Let the knife lead. The knife pool is far bigger — 584 finish-and-model rows against 72 gloves — so pick the blade you want, read its dominant colour, then find a glove in that colour. Doing it the other way round strands you.
- Buy the glove in a worn condition and the knife in a good one. Gloves lose a median of about 5.5× their Factory New price by Field-Tested, and glove wear is much less visible in the viewmodel than blade wear. That asymmetry is the single biggest saving available.
- Watch for finishes that cannot go worn. Doppler, Gamma Doppler, Fade, Marble Fade and Tiger Tooth all cap at 0.08 float — Factory New and Minimal Wear only. If your budget plan relied on a Battle-Scarred copy, those finishes are out.
- Do not trust a single listing. Everything above is a median across at least three marketplaces. Knife rows in particular contain single-provider prices that are badly wrong, which we cover on the most expensive knives page.
Patterns beat prices on two finishes
Case Hardened and the blue Doppler phases are not really priced by name at all. On Case Hardened the pattern index decides almost everything, and the same market name covers everything from a mostly-gold blade to a near-perfect blue one — the blue gem explorer shows what the seeds actually look like, and the pattern database covers the rest. If you are building a blue combo around a Case Hardened knife, the seed matters more than the glove does.
For everything else, the practical move is to preview the pair before you buy. The loadout builder puts gloves and knife next to the guns you actually run, and the glove database and knife database both show live per-marketplace pricing.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Which finishes exist as both a glove and a knife?
- Six: Fade, Marble Fade, Slaughter, Crimson Web, Forest DDPAT and Case Hardened. Those are the only cases where you can run a matching name on both items, and the glove side is a Specialist, Hand Wraps or Hydra finish.
- What is the cheapest matching glove and knife combo?
- Colour-matched pairs start around $70 to $80 for the two items together in worn conditions — for example green Hydra Gloves alongside a green-primary Shadow Daggers finish. A name-matched pair is more expensive because the cheapest of the six shared finishes still needs both halves.
- Should the glove match the knife exactly?
- Not necessarily. Exact name matches only exist for six finishes, and several of them look quite different on a glove than on a blade. Matching the dominant colour, or deliberately contrasting a neutral glove against a loud knife, usually reads better in-game.
- How much of the combo do you actually see?
- Both, constantly, and at the same time — your hands and your knife share the viewmodel. That is the argument for treating them as one purchase rather than two, and for checking them together before you buy either.
- Do Doppler knives work with gloves?
- They pair well but they constrain you: Doppler, Gamma Doppler, Fade, Marble Fade and Tiger Tooth all cap out at 0.08 float, so they only exist in Factory New and Minimal Wear. There is no cheap worn copy to balance an expensive glove against.
- Where do the colours on this page come from?
- From csdb’s colour classification of each item render, with a hand-curated override list for gloves. The overrides exist because render lighting fools the automatic classifier on famous finishes — white gloves reading as brown, for instance — so the curated value wins wherever there is one.
