How CSDB identifies value picks
The hot picks list is generated by our internal pricing model, which estimates a fair win probability for every upcoming CS2 pro match by combining recent form, head-to-head history, map veto strength, and player ratings. When our fair price diverges meaningfully from the consensus market price (and our confidence is high), the match shows up here.
What "value" means
A pick has positive expected value (+EV) when the implied probability you can get is lower than the actual probability of that outcome occurring. We don't surface every +EV match — only those where the gap exceeds a confidence threshold. That's why the hot picks list is sometimes empty: not every day has a strong edge.
How to use it
- Read the rationale. Each hot pick lists the top 2–3 reasons the model favours it.
- Check freshness. Lines move fast. A pick from 8 hours ago may no longer be live.
- Cross-check with H2H. Use the head-to-head tool to verify the model's view against recent meetings.
- Track accuracy. See historical model performance on the accuracy tracker.
Caveats
No model is right every time. CS2 is a high-variance game where individual player form, AWP duels, and clutch rounds can swing momentum in seconds. Treat hot picks as one data point among several, not as guaranteed wins. Bet responsibly.
