Understanding Sensitivity

  • Sensitivity: In-game sensitivity multiplier (1.0 - 10.0 range typically)
  • DPI: Dots per inch - your mouse hardware setting (100-3200 common)
  • eDPI: Effective DPI = DPI × Sensitivity. This determines your actual mouse speed
  • Yaw: Degrees of rotation per mouse count at sensitivity 1 — the value conversions are based on (CS2: 0.022, Valorant: 0.07, Overwatch 2: 0.0066)
  • cm/360: Physical mouse travel for a full turn — the number a correct conversion keeps constant. FOV changes how fast movement looks, not how far your mouse moves

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to convert sensitivity?

Each game uses a different yaw value — the degrees of rotation per mouse count at sensitivity 1. CS2 and Apex Legends use 0.022, Valorant uses 0.07, and Overwatch 2 and Call of Duty use 0.0066. Converting by the yaw ratio keeps your physical mouse movement (cm per 360°) identical, so your muscle memory transfers between games.

What is 3.09 sens in CS2?

3.09 is s1mple's long-time CS2 sensitivity, played at 400 DPI for an eDPI of 1236 — about 33.6 cm of mouse travel per 360° turn. The equivalent in Valorant is 3.09 × 0.3143 ≈ 0.97 (at the same 400 DPI), and in Overwatch 2 it is 3.09 × 3.333 ≈ 10.3.

What does DPI affect?

DPI (dots per inch) is your mouse hardware setting. Lower DPI with higher sens or higher DPI with lower sens can give the same effective sensitivity.
