The only confirmed seven-figure sale

The most expensive Counter-Strike skin verifiably sold is the StatTrak AK-47 | Case Hardened, pattern #661, Factory New — the "Blue Gem" AK. In June 2024 it changed hands in a deal brokered by two of the scene's best-known collectors, Sam "roflm0nster" Alexander and Oliver "zipel" Behrensdorff, for a price confirmed to exceed $1 million (the exact figure was undisclosed; reporting across the trading scene placed it between $1M and $1.5M).

Why that specific gun: pattern #661 puts a nearly uninterrupted blue top on the Case Hardened finish — the most sought-after roll among the AK's 1,000 possible patterns — and this copy is the only known StatTrak Factory New example. One-of-one supply, iconic weapon, iconic finish.

The $1.5 million knife that's never been sold

The item usually crowned "most expensive skin in CS2" is the Karambit | Case Hardened, pattern #387, Factory New — the Blue Gem Karambit. Its playside is almost solid blue, only a handful of #387 Case Hardened Karambits exist, and this is the only Factory New one.

Here's the part most lists blur: it has never been publicly sold. Its owner, the collector known as 青い王 ("Blue King"), rejected an offer of roughly $1.5 million(a €1.2M Bitcoin bid, back in 2021) as too low, and community valuations since have floated toward $2 million. Those are offers and estimates, not transactions — real money was on the table, but the record books should say "unsold."

Souvenir Dragon Lore: the case that a single skin outprices

The Souvenir AWP | Dragon Lore is the perennial number three. It only drops from souvenir packages tied to Majors played on old Cobblestone, supply effectively ended when Cobblestone left the Major pool, and Factory New copies with the right stickers are museum pieces.

The famous verified sale: $61,052 in January 2018, one day after Cloud9 won the Boston Major, for a souvenir Dragon Lore carrying Skadoodle's gold sticker. Since then, substantially larger private sales have been consistently reported — figures from $150,000 past $250,000 — and Factory New listings have sat above $400,000, but those later numbers come from private deals and asks rather than publicly documented transactions. Notice what's absent: nothing here is expensive because it's a red-tier drop from a current case. Every entry owes its price to terminated supply — a removed skin, a dead souvenir pool, a one-in-a-thousand pattern, a discontinued sticker capsule.

Did the 2025 knife trade-up update change this list?

Less than you'd think. When Valve's October 2025 update let five Covert skins convert into a knife — the mechanics are in our knife trade-ups guide — ordinary knife and glove prices fell hard; supply was suddenly craftable. But the items on this page were never priced as "a knife" or "an AWP." They're priced as one-of-one or one-of-few artifacts, and you can't trade up to pattern #387 or to a 2014 sticker. The grail market shrugged; if anything, the crash in ordinary golds widened the gap between a knife and the knife.
