RULES

Giveaway Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every prize draw run on CSDB.gg. In short: it is free to enter, nothing is for sale, and the draw can be verified by anyone.

1. No purchase necessary

Entry is free. No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter or to win, no payment will improve your chance of winning, and there is no mechanism by which an entry can be bought, sold, traded or transferred. Entries are earned solely through free actions on this site.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
  • You must hold a Steam account that is at least 30 days old, has at least 10 hours recorded in Counter-Strike 2, and is not a Steam-limited account.
  • Your Steam account must be able to receive trade offers. An account that cannot trade cannot be paid a prize.
  • One entry record per Steam account. Entering through multiple Steam accounts, or using automated means to generate entries, disqualifies all associated entries.
  • Void where prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to ensure you may lawfully enter from your jurisdiction.

3. How entries are earned

Each qualifying free action awards a fixed number of entries, listed on the giveaway page. Entries apply to the round in which they were earned and do not carry over to a later round.

  • The daily check-in may be claimed once per calendar day, measured in UTC.
  • Daily missions are awarded automatically when the underlying action is recorded by the site. They are not self-reported and cannot be claimed without performing them.
  • Setup actions — connecting an inventory, creating a first price alert, sharing a configuration, and the equivalents listed on the giveaway page — are awarded once per member in total, not once per round.
  • Referral entries are awarded only once the invited person signs in, independently satisfies the eligibility requirements above, and performs a recorded action on the site. They are subject to a cap of 50 entries per round.
  • The entry values and caps that apply to a round are those published when that round opened; they are recorded against the round and are not altered while it is running.

4. How the winner is drawn

Before entries open we publish a commit hash, being the SHA-256 of a secret seed. After entries close we record a public random beacon that is outside our control, together with a hash of the final entry list. The winning ticket is derived as ticket = int(sha256(seed:beacon:entriesHash:drawIndex).slice(0, 12), 16) mod totalEntries, where drawIndex is 0 for the original draw and increments on any redraw. The seed is then published so that any person may independently recompute and verify the result.

entriesHash is the SHA-256 of one steamId:entries line per entrant, joined with |, ordered by Steam ID ascending, with zero-entry rows excluded. Entries are frozen when the round closes and the winner is drawn from that frozen list.

We cannot select the winner, and we cannot alter the seed after the commit hash is published.

5. Prize and delivery

The prize for each draw is stated on the giveaway page. Prizes are delivered by Steam trade offer to the trade URL supplied by the winner. There is no cash alternative and prizes are not transferable.

We will never ask for your Steam password, your Steam Guard codes, or any payment in order to release a prize. Any message that does so is not from us.

The winner is notified on this site, on every page, while signed in, and must claim within 14 days of the draw. Eligibility is re-checked at the point of claim: an account that has since become unable to trade cannot be paid a prize. If a winner does not claim within that period, the round is redrawn using the same verifiable method — over the same frozen entry list, with a new public beacon and an incremented draw index, so the redraw is as checkable as the original. A round is redrawn at most 2 times, after which it is closed with no winner.

6. Disqualification

We may remove entries or disqualify an entrant where we reasonably believe the eligibility requirements are not met, multiple accounts have been used, or entries have been generated by automated or fraudulent means. Any such exclusion is recorded and applied before the entry list is frozen and hashed, so the published proof always describes the list the draw actually used.

7. Data

To run a draw we process your Steam ID, display name, avatar, Steam account creation date, CS2 playtime, and — if you win — the trade URL you provide. Trade URLs are only requested from entrants. See our privacy policy for how to request deletion.

8. Promoter

These giveaways are run by CSDB.gg and are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Valve Corporation. Counter-Strike 2 and Steam are trademarks of Valve Corporation.
