History
Martin Lykke Suhr and Mathias Skousbøll Hermansen created GamerPay on November 1st, 2020 but they officially launched it in May 2021, making it one of the newest P2P skins trading sites focused on CS:GO and Ev.io, by bringing you a Skin marketplace that you can trust. Similarly to DMarket, they raised funds to kickstart this project, but instead of an ICO they ran a traditional fundraising campaign that reached $2,000,000.
Given the background of its founders and clear roadmap, GamerPay received the support of important EU and US tech companies like VCs including FoundersClub, PreSeed Ventures, and Skyfall. They also entered into a partnership with Ninjas In Pyjamas (NIP) in 2021, to support their mission to make skins trading safe for everyone when it comes to selling items and gaming skins through their platform known as Gamerpay Wallet.
Created in a post-PSD2 era, GamerPay relied on LemonWay to process deposits, payouts and transactions legally in Europe. Because no trading site can hold customer funds without a banking license. GamerPay solved this obstacle by using LemonWay’s services, which is backed up by BNP Paribas, one of the biggest banks in Europe.
One of the most common questions we get asked is whether is Gamerpay legit to buy CSGO Skins and Sell CSGO skins? We’ll let’s find out in our review on this popular gaming skins platform.
Popularity
Even though it launched less than 3 years ago in an increasingly competitive sector, GamerPay has managed to become an important P2P skin marketplace for buying skins and if you want to sell skins, and the numbers prove it for this skin marketplace.
- Monthly Traffic: 450,000+ visits
- Trustpilot Rating: 4.7/5.0
- Trustpilot Reviews: 750+
- Twitter Followers: 24,000+
- Discord Members: 2,600+
- Reddit Threads: 700+
- Listed Offers: 35,000+
It’s a legit site with many users daily as shown by Trustpilot with a rating of 4.7 out of 5.0 with 700+ reviews, and the Reddit threads are full of positive mentions and comments about GamerPay. And its monthly traffic puts it above other platforms like ShadowPay (300K visitors) and WaxPeer (200K visitors). But it still has to surpass hybrid trading sites like DMarket (4.9M visitors).
GamerPay is struggling to reach global reach and adoption because it’s confined to Europe and the UK, and the traffic data confirms it:
- Denmark: 66,000+ monthly visitors
- Switzerland: 41,000+ monthly visitors
- Sweden: 41,000+ monthly visitors
- UK: 40,000+ monthly visitors
- Jersey: 34,000+ monthly visitors
The USA, one of the main hubs for skins trading, registers less than 30,000 monthly visitors per month. For GamerPay to receive the recognition it deserves, it needs to work on expanding to other markets by including more payment methods, especially cryptocurrencies.
Market Type
GamerPay is a P2P (peer-to-peer) skins trading site where you can buy, sell and exchange CS:GO and Ev.io skins and items directly with other traders. You don’t need to deposit skins or items into GamerPay’s inventory, because they are traded directly from your own Steam’s inventory through a trade offer for your gaming skins.
If you’re new to the concept of P2P skins trading on this site or in general, we will explain how it works when buying and when selling on Gamerpay with mini-tutorials for this marketplace.
Buying at GamerPay
- Go to GamerPay.gg
- Login via Steam
- Click on “Buy”
- Explore the market to find the skins and items you want to buy
- Click on your favorite CSGO skins and items
- Click on “Go to Checkout”
- Review the details of the transaction
- Click on “Buy” to complete the trade
Then you will have to wait for the seller to confirm and complete the trade, because all the skins and items are traded in and out from the users’ Steam inventories. The delivery time features ranges from 10 mins to over 4 hours, and it will depend on the sellers account you choose at the GamerPay marketplace.
Selling at GamerPay
- Go to GamerPay.gg
- Login via Steam
- Click on “Sell”
- Insert your Steam tradelink and API key
- Select the skins and items you want to sell
- List them for sale on GamerPay
- Wait for a trader to buy your skins
Once someone decides to buy a skin or item from your shop, you will be notified to confirm and complete the trade. The faster you do it, the better your rating will be as a seller for your trade. You can withdraw to your bank account for a small fee when you complete a sale providing you have completed The Gamerpay KYC, Gamerpay receives a cut of each sale, depending on if they have promotions on or not.
GamerPay allows you to create your own 3D Shop where you can list and showcase all of your skins and items, a unique benefit that will help you to convince more buyers into purchasing your skins.
Buying & Selling Fees
GamerPay, unlike other skins trading sites, charges the fees to the buyers instead of the sellers. Here you have the fees structure of this P2P platform:
Type of Fee | Fee |
Selling Fee | 0.00% |
Buying Fee (Credit Card) | 5.00% |
Buying Fee (Account Balance) | 2.50% |
GamerPay also runs special promotions such as 0% buying fee during your first 48 hours on the platform. They drop the buying fee from 5.00% to 0.00%, so you can buy as many CS:GO skins and items as you wish.
Deposit & Payout Methods
Because GamerPay fully complies with the PSD2 regulation, it limits the number of deposit and payout methods and we can summarize it in a single list:
- Deposit Methods: Steam, Debit and Credit Cards, and Bank Transfers
- Payout Methods: Steam and Bank Transfers
It falls short in this department because unlike other P2P trading platforms like WaxPeer and ShadowPay that offer payment methods such as eWallets and cryptocurrencies, here you have only one way to cashout your money.
Pros:
- Maximize your profits with the 0% selling
- Save money when buying with the 2.5-5.0% buying fee
- Take advantage of 0% buying fee promos
- Sell more with the free 3D Shops to showcase your skins
- Full anti-scam protection for all P2P trades
- More than 35,000 active offers ready for trading
- Fast and seamless trades thanks to its 450,000 monthly visitors
Cons:
- No crypto payment methods
- You need to complete KYC
