What Skins Can Be In Your Weekly CS2 Care Package?

The three things a Care Package can contain

• Containers. Weapon cases from the active pool, and since March 2026 the Dead Hand Terminal as well — Valve introduced it as a possible weekly drop when the Dead Hand Collection launched. Every container in circulation, with contents and live prices, is in our cases database.
• Weapon finishes. Skins pulled from the collections on the care package drop list. This is the part people mean when they ask what skins they can get, and it is covered in detail below.
• Graffiti. Sealed graffiti has been part of the reward set since launch. It is the least interesting outcome and reliably the least valuable.

The package presents you with a set of options rather than one fixed item, and the client lets you preview a container before you commit — Valve shipped a fix in January 2025 for the care package preview of weapon cases not having a close button, which tells you the preview has been there a while. Which collections are on the drop list

Valve documents changes, not the standing list. Two updates account for the current shape of it:

The pattern is consistent: old map collections out, purpose-built collections in. Valve described the 2025 batch as bringing a wide range of styles from solid colours, gold reliefs, camo patterns and custom paint jobs, and teased the 2026 pair with a line worth repeating — one has colour and the other one does not.

That was not a joke. Of the twenty Achroma Collection finishes, every single one reads as greyscale in our colour classification — the name is doing exactly what it says. Harlequin is the opposite: reds, pinks, blues, a yellow and an orange across nineteen finishes. If you want the colourful end of the drop pool, Harlequin is where it lives. What grade of skin you can actually get

This is the part that reframes the whole question. Across those five collections the csdb database holds 124 finishes, and they break down like this:

Every one of them stops at Classified, and every one of them contains exactly one Classified finish. Add the tiers up across all five and you get 50 Consumer Grade, 34 Industrial Grade, 24 Mil-Spec, 11 Restricted and 5 Classified. Four out of five finishes in the current drop collections are Consumer or Industrial grade.

So the ceiling on a weekly skin drop is a Classified, and the overwhelmingly likely outcome is a low-grade finish. There is no Covert in these collections to be lucky into, and no drop hands out knives or gloves. If a video promises you a red from a weekly drop, it is either very old or not describing CS2. What never appears in a Care Package

• Knives and gloves. They are special items inside containers, not drop rewards. The only route to one without buying it is opening a container or running the five-Covert contract described in our trade up contracts guide.
• Covert finishes. Not present in any collection Valve has publicly added to the drop list since 2025.
• Anything at all, without Prime. A non-Prime account receives no Care Package. This is the actual answer for most people who have never seen one.
• A second package in the same week. The reward is weekly, and playing more does not produce more of them.

Which option to take

When a container and a drop-pool finish are both on offer, the container is usually the better pick on value alone — active-pool cases hold a market price, while a Consumer Grade drop-list finish generally does not. That is the reasoning, not a guarantee, and it moves with the market; the cases database and the skin database carry live prices for both sides of the decision.
