Whether you’re looking to practice by shooting a hundred bots, or playing a mini game where you have to mow down a zombie apocalypse, the infinite ammo command is always a command you want to have in the back of your head.
As the name suggests, the infinite ammo command is a cheat command that will give players on the server unlimited ammunition; they will never run out of bullets. The infinite ammo also applies to grenades, such as smokes and flashbangs. It is a very useful training command that is included in nearly every player’s practice config.
With it being a cheat command, keep in mind that the CS:GO infinite ammo command cannot be used in official Valve matchmaking servers. It can only be used in a private server where you have access to turn on cheats.
Step 1: Enable The Developer Console
The first step to using the CS:GO infinite ammo command is to enable the developer console, which is the tool that will make it all possible.
The process of turning on the developer console is straightforward:
- Launch Counter-Strike and go to your Settings page.
- In the settings page, go to the Game Settings section.
- At the very top, look for Enable Developer Console and change it to Yes.
Now, you can press the “~” key and see that the in-game console will pop up.
Alternatively, you can type “-console” in your launch options for the same effect.
Step 2: Load Into A Private Server
As mentioned earlier, the CS:GO infinite ammo command is considered a cheat, and cannot be used in a Competitive game. The only way to use the command is to load into a private server, in other words, a bot match.
To load into a private server, follow the steps below:
- Launch Counter-Strike and click the Play button at the top of the Main Menu screen.
- Next, select the Practice option and choose the game mode you’d like to play. Usually, it’s Competitive.
- Choose a map and wait for the game to load.
Once you are in a private server, there’s one more step to complete before you can enable the infinite ammo command.
Step 3: Enable Cheats In The Server
To turn on the CS:GO infinite ammo command, the server must have cheats enabled. To turn on cheats on the server, follow this simple procedure:
- Open your developer console by pressing “~”.
- Next, type the command “sv_cheats 1” and hit your Enter key.
Now that cheats are allowed on the server, you can move on to the last step.
Step 4: Use The Infinite Ammo Command
There are two types of infinite ammo commands. Both will do its purpose, but the two commands have distinct differences. Choose which one you prefer:
sv_infinite_ammo 1
The first version of the infinite ammo command will allow you to have infinite ammo without your clip ever depleting. This means, with an AK-47, you will always have your bullet status at 30/90 even when you are shooting. With sv_infinite_ammo 1, players will never have to reload.
sv_infinite_ammo 2
The second version of the command is slightly different. Though you will still have infinite ammo, your clip will deplete like it normally would, and you will have to reload when your magazine is dry. This means, after spraying 30 bullets of your AK-47, you will have to reload, but your ammunition will return to 30/90, resulting in infinite ammo.
If players want to disable the infinite ammo command, the game does not need to be restarted. Instead, players can type “sv_infinite_ammo 0” to disable the command.
In conclusion, the infinite ammo command has multiple uses. Whether it’s for practice, or for messing around with friends. The procedure to enable the command is incredibly straightforward, but can only be performed in a private server with cheats on.
