How To Remove Stickers In CS2

In Counter-Strike 2, stickers give players an excellent way of expressing themselves and their thoughts on their favorite weapon skins. However, situations may arise where you regret pasting a sticker on skin, or you buy one from the market, and it already has stickers applied.

Fortunately, it is possible to remove stickers from a weapon by scraping it. However, there is something important you need to know about removing stickers. In this article, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know about scraping stickers in CS2.

How To Remove A Sticker From A Weapon In CS2 [Step-By-Step Guide]

It would be dumb on Valve’s end not to allow players to remove stickers from weapons. Scratching off stickers is something you can do in real life, so Valve has kept CS2 realistic and created the “scraping” feature to remove stickers from weapon skins.

Here is a step-by-step procedure of how you can scrape a sticker from your weapon skins:

Step 1: Open your Counter-Strike inventory in the game

The first step is to open your in-game inventory. This means you must launch your Counter-Strike 2 client. Once your game has been launched, go to the “Inventory” section.

Step 2: Find the weapon skin you are looking for

Now that you see all of the skins you own in Counter-Strike, look for the weapon skin with the sticker you are trying to remove.

When hovering over a weapon skin, you will see a small indicator of what stickers are applied to the gun. Make sure to double-check if you have selected the wrong weapon skin.

Step 3: Right-click the skin and press “Scrape Sticker”

Now that you have ensured you selected the correct skin, right-click on the weapon skin in question. After clicking your right mouse button, a menu with a handful of options will appear.

Here, click on the “Scrape Sticker” option, which is the tool that will help you remove the sticker from the skin.

Step 4: Begin scraping the sticker from the weapon

Now, the “Scrape Sticker” menu will be opened. You will see a full display of your weapon skin and all the stickers on it lined up at the bottom of the screen.

To begin scraping, all you need to do is left-click on the sticker you want to remove. The game will start scratching the sticker little by little, so keep clicking with your left mouse button.

Step 5: Remove the sticker completely

After scraping a few times, you will notice that the sticker will appear as if it is almost completely removed. Before the last scrape, the game will display a warning message reading: “Scraping this sticker further will remove it from the item and it will be destroyed.”

If this is what you are intending to do, then click on the “Remove Sticker” button to confirm your action.

Can You Undo The Scraping Of Stickers?

One important thing you should note is that you cannot undo the scraping of stickers. For some reason, Valve has not implemented a feature where you can start scraping and cancel your actions at the end.

As a result, every scrap is final. Every time you click on the sticker to scratch it, it is irreversible damage and your sticker will not return to 100% condition.

The only prevention method Valve placed is the warning for the last scrape before you remove the sticker altogether.

Be careful, as there have been numerous cases where a player’s friend has scraped their expensive stickers without knowing that there is no feature to undo their actions.

Do You Get Your Sticker Back After Removing It?

Something you must know is that you will not have a sticker returned to you after scraping it! Applying the sticker itself is already a final decision that you cannot take back.

So, scraping a sticker to the point of removing it means the sticker will be gone for good. It will not magically reappear in your inventory. You cannot use the same sticker to paste on another weapon skin or sell it on the community market. It is permanently gone for good.

Ensure you are in the right state of mind before applying a sticker, especially if they are expensive, such as the Katowice 2014 stickers.

Why Would You Scrape Stickers In CS2?

The primary purpose of scraping a sticker is to have it removed from the weapon’s skin. Maybe you’ve gotten bored of the sticker or want to replace it with another one.

However, there are players who purposely scrape certain stickers to get a specific look. One of the best examples is player signatures. A player’s signature usually has a background, which many players don’t like.

By scraping the sticker, you could remove the background. However, as we’ve discussed above, this process is irreversible, so be careful if you’re scraping an expensive autograph!

Some scraped stickers work very well in combination with some skins in Counter-Strike. Here are some scraped sticker combinations that were figured out by the community:

  • AWP | Redline + Health (Gold)
  • Desert Eagle | Crimson Web + Gold Web (Foil)
  • AK-47 | Neon Revolution + Go Boom (Glitter)
  • Glock-18 | Water Elemental + 00 Nation (Rio 2022)
  • USP-S | The Traitor + Legendary Eagle Master (Holo)
