What is the Command host_timescale for CS2 and CS:GO?

It is a special command that alters the speed of the server, allowing you to make it as slow or as fast as you wish. The values for the command start at 0 and you can increase them as necessary.

Because this command works at server level, it will alter the speed of movements, recoil, sprays, nades, etc. of all players. Hence, it will affect all aspects of the match.

The command host_timescale is set at “1” by default, which means the game runs at normal speed. If you change it to “2”, resulting in the command host_timescale 2, then the game would run 100% faster.

This command requires you to enable sv_cheats to sv_cheats 1, because it directly alters the mechanics of the game. Furthermore, you can only use it in private matches, as most servers won’t allow it.

Therefore, it’s a fun command you can use when playing with your friends or for training purposes. However, it’s banned on most servers and a no-go for competitive matches.
