How To Check How Much Your CS2 Skins Are Worth

If you want to find out the real value of your inventory in CS:GO, you’ve arrived at the right place. However, there’s not only one way of checking CS GO skin values, as we are going to share with you 4 methods to do it, be it you want to keep your inventory private or if you’re comfortable with making it public.

Check out our tutorials below so you can discover the real value of your inventory today.

Checking the Price of Your Skins Manually

If you only want to check the price of a few skins of your inventory, you can do it manually in a few steps. Here’s how you can accomplish it, to discover the real value of your CS:GO skins.

To do this, you can visit any of the available websites that offer information about the prices of CS:GO skins, starting with the Steam Community Marketplace, as well as third party sites.

You can also make a quick Google search for the name of your skin along with its pattern and wear quality, and you’ll get results from third-party calculators and third-party sites that will openly share with you how much your skin is worth.

This is a good method if you only want to check and compare the prices of a handful of skins, but if you have a large inventory, it’s not worth the effort. Hence, we invite you to check the next methods, which make it easy to check the value of several skins at once.

Calculating the Value of Your Inventory using Steam Tools

If you don’t want to make your inventory public, there’s no problem, as you can use Steam tools to calculate the total value of your inventory. Here is how you can do it step by step:

  1. Visit Steam.tools
  2. Get your Steam ID
  3. Input your Steam ID
  4. Click on “Fetch”
  5. It will automatically display the total value of your inventory

Despite this solution being the best one if you don’t want to make your inventory public, it might not be 100% accurate. Therefore, if you want to get a more precise picture on the value of your inventory, we  encourage you to explore the next solutions.

Discovering the CS GO Skin Values of Your Inventory with a Third-Party Calculator

If you’re comfortable with making your inventory public, which doesn’t pose any risk for your skins as long as you follow our instructions, we recommend you to use a third-party calculator, especially if you have a large inventory. Here’s how you can do it.

The first step is making your inventory public and getting the URL to enter it in the third-party calculator, here’s how you can do it:

  1. Log into Steam or launch the Steam Client
  2. Click on “Trade Offers”
  3. Click on “Who can send me trade offers”
  4. Steam will display your trade URL

Now that your inventory is public and you have a shareable URL, all you need to do is to visit your preferred calculator, input the link and click on “Calculate” or a call-to-action and it will automatically calculate the price of your inventory.

It is worth noting you should not take the price provided by a third-party calculator as definitive, because it might not completely correspond to the real value of your inventory. This is why we recommend using different calculators and comparing their results, to bring you a better idea on how much your inventory is worth in reality.

If you’re doing this just because you want to find out the value of your inventory, with no plans on actively trading or selling your skins, you can stick to these calculations.

However, if you want to trade and make money with it, we recommend you supplement this with the next method we are going to share with you, which is using third-party trading sites.

Checking and Comparing the Value of Your CS:GO Skins on Trading Sites

If you want to find out how much your CS:GO skins are worth because you want to exchange or sell them, the most practical approach is to use trading sites. Here’s how you can do it easily to discover the real value of your CS2 inventory.

First, you need to sign up at a proper trading site, and here you have a list of the best sites to exchange, buy and sell CS:GO skins nowadays:

  • DMarket
  • CS.Money
  • SkinBaron
  • TradeIt.gg
  • SkinsMonkey
  • ShadowPay

Once you have created your account, all you need to do is to add the URL of your public inventory (trade URL), check the Steam inventory checker, and you will quickly find out the value of your skins according to the market of the trading site.

Just like calculators, we recommend you to compare the prices from different marketplaces by following this method, as it will bring you a more complete overview on the real value of your inventory.

It will take you more time, but it’s absolutely worth it if you want to discover what platforms can pay you the most for your skins, as well as for identifying arbitrage opportunities for the future.

How is the Price of a CS:GO Skin Calculated?

We have already shared all the available ways by which you can calculate how much your CS:GO skins are worth. However, if you want to dive deep into the details that influence the prices of skins in the game, you will find all the information you need below.

Rarity

Let’s start by exploring one of the most important factors that will determine the price of a CS:GO skin, its rarity. Here you have the full list of rarity grades in CS:GO (CS2):

  • Common – Consumer Grade
  • Uncommon – Industrial grade
  • Rare – Mil-Spec
  • Mythical – Restricted
  • Legendary – Classified
  • Ancient – Covert
  • Exceedingly Rare – Rare Special
  • Immortal – Contraband

The “Common” skins are the most affordable ones, whereas the ones located at the bottom of the list are the most expensive, being the top ones the Immortal and Contraband rated skins, as they are the scarcest in the market.

Float

The float value, AKA the wear and tear of the skin, heavily influences the value of it. The lower the float value is, the more valuable the skin will be, and we can divide it in the following categories:

  • Factory New: 0.00-0.07
  • Minimal Wear: 0.07-0.15
  • Field-Tested: 0.15-0.38
  • Well-Worn: 0.38-0.45
  • Battle-Scarred: 0.45-1.00

Factory New skins are the most valuable ones. For example, you can have two skins with the exact same pattern and finish, but the one with the lower float value will cost more, and hence it’s an important factor to take into account.

Skins with a low float value look better because they retain all or the majority of the original features of the weapon, making it more attractive in the eyes of buyers, collectors and traders.

Evidently, getting a Factory New case by opening CS:GO cases is much harder than getting a Field-Tested or Well-Worn skin, for example. And this is another factor that drives up the value of skins with a float value, because it’s incredibly hard to get them, as your chances of obtaining a Factory New skin by opening cases is only 3%.

Pattern

The rarity of a pattern will influence the price of a skin. The rarer a pattern is, the more valuable it is. For example, the rarest skin is the Karambit Blue Gem, which is worth over $1.5 million dollars, and it has pattern #387.

Therefore, if you have two skins that share the same features, but one of them has a rare and exotic pattern, you can expect to sell it by a high premium, and you can easily verify it by using third-party calculators and exploring the Steam and third-party marketplaces.

Finish

Another factor that determines the cost of a skin is its finish style. For example, if you have two Karambits, and one of them is standard while the other is Case Hardened, which is a variation of the Patina finish style, the latter one will be a lot more valuable, especially if it has a rare pattern.

In fact, the more resilient to wear and tear a weapon finish style is, the more expensive it will be, and hence it’s a factor that heavily influences the final price of a skin in CS:GO (CS2).

Stickers

If a CSGO skin has a valuable sticker, it will be priced much higher than the exact same skin without it. For example, a skin with a highly valuable sticker such as the HellRaisers (Holo) | Katowice (2014), priced at $10,000+, will massively increase the price of a skin. This is why it’s an important factor to take into account when determining the value of a CS2 skin.

However, as we have already mentioned, the sticker needs to be rare and exotic, otherwise it will not affect the price of a skin.

StatTrak

If a CS:GO skin is rated as StatTrak its price will be higher. For example, if we have two skins with the same float value and pattern, but only one of them is StatTrak, then it will be more valuable. You can easily verify it by exploring the Steam Marketplace and third-party trading sites like DMarket.

Souvenir

Just like StatTrack can increase the value of a skin, the same goes for “Souvenir”, as it’s a limited and exotic quality only applied to a very reduced number of CS:GO skins, as they can only be obtained through souvenir packages.

Are Trading Sites, Steam Tools and Third Party Calculators 100% Accurate?

They are not 100% accurate, but they are as close as it gets to pricing your skins correctly. This is why trading is not as easy as it seems, because you need to analyze the entire market and compare the prices provided by different calculators and marketplaces, as it’s the only way to discover the real value of your CS:GO skins.

As we have previously mentioned, it is key to use different calculators and trading sites, including the Steam Community Marketplace, to get an exact picture of the real CS GO skin values, especially if you are interested in actively selling and trading.

Conclusion

Now you have all the resources at your disposal to discover the value of your CS:GO inventory, so all you need to do is to take action and find out the price of your skins today, especially now that you already know what factors will influence the value of a skin.
