Shroud CS2 Settings: Full Config & Crosshair

Michael “shroud” Grzesiek was formerly known as one of the greatest North American Counter-Strike players in the world, and he is now a jack of all trades in the gaming world. He has become an incredibly successful streamer and plays various shooter games. Though he does not play Counter-Strike as much as he used to, it never hurts to see what settings he uses to play. Here is everything you need to know about shroud’s CS2 settings.

shroud Mouse Settings

Being the influential person that he is, shroud is using his custom-made mouse, the Logitech G303 Shroud Edition. Here are the settings he is using alongside his mouse:

Mouse Settings Value
DPI 800
Sensitivity 1.2
Effective DPI (eDPI) 960
Zoom Sensitivity 1
Hz 1000
Windows Sensitivity  6

The Canadian streamer is using a DPI value of 800 and a mouse sensitivity of 1.2, totaling an effective DPI of 960. This falls close into the median of professional player sensitivity settings, so there’s nothing too crazy about it.

shroud Crosshair Settings

Shroud hasn’t been too active in the Counter-Strike scene for a while, so he is using a relatively outdated crosshair. Still, it works and you may want to try it out:

Crosshair Setting Value
Style Classic Static
Follow Recoil No
Dot No
Length 5
Thickness 1.5
Gap -2
Outline No
Color Green
Sniper Width 0

He uses a crosshair with 1.5 thickness, making the crosshair quite bulky. These thickness levels were prominent in the early days of Counter-Strike, which was when shroud peaked. The crosshair is also quite large with a length of 5.

shroud Crosshair Code

If you want to see how old crosshairs look in Counter-Strike, import shroud’s crosshair code below:

shroud Viewmodel Settings

The viewmodel is a setting that doesn’t age, so copying shroud’s viewmodel settings could be something fun to do:

Viewmodel Setting Value
FOV 68
Offset X 2.5
Offset Y 1
Offset Z -1.5
Presetpos 3

Overall, he is using a standard viewmodel with a maximum FOV value of 68, which is commonly used among professionals. However, he has tweaked his viewmodel offset more than others have.

shroud Viewmodel Config

To apply shroud’s viewmodel settings, all you have to do is copy and paste the following commands into your developer console:

viewmodel_fov 68; viewmodel_offset_x 2.5; viewmodel_offset_y 1; viewmodel_offset_z -1.5; viewmodel_presetpos 3;

shroud Launch Options

Shroud has also provided his fans with his launch options, which includes standard stuff:

-novid -high -tickrate 128 -freq 240

shroud Video Settings

If you want to become a Counter-Strike streamer like shroud, it’s important to have similar video settings to appeal to your viewers.

shroud Resolution and Aspect Ratio

The most important video settings are the resolution and aspect ratio, so let’s take a peek at what shroud uses:

Video Setting Value
Resolution 2560×1440
Aspect Ratio 16:9
Scaling Mode Native
Brightness 100%
Fullscreen Fullscreen

Our boy has been hooked up with the best gaming gear, and he’s flexing on us with a resolution of 2560×1440, which is the highest possible option. This means he is using an aspect ratio of 16:9 and is playing on a native scaling mode.

shroud Advanced Video Settings

We recommend having a strong computer before you try and copy shroud’s advanced video settings, as nearly everything is maxed out:

Video Setting Value
Boost Player Contrast Enabled
Wait for Vertical Sync Disabled
Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode 8x MSAA
Global Shadow Quality High
Model / Texture Detail High
Texture Filtering Mode Trilinear
Shader Detail High
Particle Detail Very High
Ambient Occlusion High
High Dynamic Range Quality
FidelityFX Super Resolution Disabled (Highest Quality)
NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency Disabled

It’s important to note that shroud’s primary occupation is a streamer, not a professional player. As a result, he uses the highest advanced video settings to ensure his viewers get a good experience.

shroud Radar Settings

Finally, we’ll quickly go over shroud’s radar settings:

Radar Setting Value
Radar Centers Player No
Radar is Rotating Yes
Toggle Shape With Scoreboard No
Radar HUD Size 1.005
Radar Map Zoom 0.5

Most professional players prefer their radar centering on themselves, but shroud has chosen to differ and disabled the setting. Other than that, his radar settings are normal.
