How To Make An Infinite Round Time In CS2/CSGO

Normally, a regular round of Counter-Strike would last 1 minute and 55 seconds. This has always been the setting for the longest time. However, players may want to increase the round timer and make it infinite, for numerous purposes such as playing mini games or practicing on private servers.

In this article, we will discuss what the unlimited time CS:GO command is, why it is helpful, and how to use it.

What Is The Infinite Round Time Command?

The infinite round time command is a CS:GO unlimited time command that allows players to change the usual 1 minute and 55 time duration in rounds.

Since players can tweak the round durations, they can change rounds to last in an unlimited amount of time. Unfortunately, it is not possible to set a round timer to actual infinity, but you can at least increase it to 60 minutes, which should be more than enough time to fulfill your needs.

This command changes the format of the game, which means it cannot be used in official matchmaking servers. It can only be done on a private server that you have admin permissions on.

How To Use The Infinite Round Time Command?

The CS:GO unlimited time command can be used by inputting a single command into your console. That being said, you must ensure that your developer console is enabled so you can input the command.

The base command for infinite round time is “mp_roundtime”, but there are two other variations of the command that must be used appropriately for it to work. The correct variation to use depends on what game mode you are playing; Bomb Defusal, or Hostage Rescue.

Here is the complete list of infinite round time commands and when to use them:

Command Game Mode
mp_roundtime 60 When the map does not have a clear game

mode, use this command.

mp_roundtime_defuse 60 This command is used when players are on a Bomb Defusal Map, such as Mirage, Inferno, and Overpass.
mp_roundtime_hostage 60 This command is used when players are on a Hostage Rescue Map, such as Office and Italy.

In these examples, we have set the value of the command to 60, which means the rounds will last for 60 minutes. If you want to set the timer to 45 minutes, then you would change the value to 45.

If you are playing on a workshop map and are unsure of what type of game mode the map uses, you can simply enter all three mp_roundtime commands just in case, which can be copied below and pasted into your console:

mp_roundtime 60; mp_roundtime_defuse 60; mp_roundtime_hostage 60

Inputting all three commands won’t mess anything up. It’s just an easier way of ensuring you get the command working on the first try.

An important thing to note is you must restart the game after applying the CS:GO infinite time command, which you can do by typing “mp_restartgame 1” in the console.

Why Should The Infinite Round Time Command Be Used?

The main reason why players make use of the infinite round time command is because they are conducting practice sessions on a private server.

For example, if a player is practicing their smoke grenade lineups, it would normally take them more than two minutes to finish. While they are focused on lining up their smokes, the round suddenly ends and they get sent back to spawn. Having the round end hinders the practicing process and is very annoying in general.

Another reason why the command is useful is for players playing mini games or workshop maps, such as surf or bunny hop maps. If a round ends while a player is surfing, not only will they stop moving, but they will also be moved back to the starting point, losing all progress.

In conclusion, the infinite round time command is incredibly helpful in numerous scenarios, and is a command you want to have in the back of your head at all times.

Other Commands To Use With The Infinite Round Time Command?

There are a few other commands players can use to complement the unlimited time CS:GO command. Here is a quick rundown of what those commands are:

mp_warmup_end 1: This command will end the annoying five-minute warmup phase when you load into a match, so you can immediately set the round timer to 60 minutes with no delay.

mp_ignore_round_win_conditions 1: Win conditions in Bomb Defusal modes are either the bomb exploding, or the bomb being defused. By ignoring these win conditions, the rounds will not end when a bomb explodes or is defused, which allows the rounds to last an infinite amount of time.

mp_buytime 9999: Since you’re looking to have infinite time in a round, it is also a good idea to make the buy time last as long as possible. The “9999” in this command means the buy time will be available for 9,999 seconds, which is over two hours.

mp_buy_anywhere 1: To pair with the buy time command, this command will allow players to buy from anywhere on the map, not needing to be at their team’s spawn to open the buy menu.

mp_restartgame 1: As mentioned earlier, the game must be restarted to not only apply the CS:GO unlimited time command, but all the commands listed above, too. Always restart the game after inputting more time commands.
