You’re here to learn how to bind grenades in CS:GO, and this is exactly what you’re going to learn thanks to our guide. We will guide you step by step, showing you exactly how to set up CSGO nade binds to switch between grenades by just clicking a key.

We have divided this article based on the different CS:GO grenades available, so you can easily set up the binds to start using them right off the bat.

Without anything more to add, let’s start!

What Do You Need to Set Up Grenades Binds in CS:GO?

Before we talk about creating the binds, you need to enable the developer console. If you don’t know how to do it, here’s how you can do it easily:

  1. Launch CS:GO
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Go to “Game
  4. Find the option labeled “Enable Developer Console”
  5. Set it to “Yes”

Now you can launch the console by clicking the “~” key, allowing you to set up the binds as necessary.

However, the downside of this is you will have to launch and enter the binds every single time you launch CS:GO. If you want to make your binds permanent, we recommend you to add them to your autoexec.cfg or preferred .cfg file. If you’d like to learn more about it, we invite you to check our corresponding tutorials here at CSDB.gg.

Next, you need to decide what keys you will use for the binds. In case you want to create a bind for every single grenade in CS:GO, we invite you to think very well about it, especially if you want to bind other commands, so you can use your keyboard smartly.

You have met all the requirements to bind grenades in CS:GO, so let’s go down to business.

HE Bind

If you want to create a bind for the HE grenade in CS:GO, you just need to follow this quick tutorial:

  1. Press the “~” key to launch the developer console
  2. Input bind “key” “use weapon_hegrenade”
  3. Press “Enter”
  4. Now you can use the HE grenade any time you click your selected key

Evidently, you need to replace the “key” part with your preferred key. For example, let’s say you want to use the HE grenade any time you click the “P” key, then you’d need to input the following via the developer console: bind “p” “use weapon_hegrenade”.

You can use any key you want to set up the bind, but as we mentioned in the previous section, make sure to select the keys smartly, so you can use your binds and commands effectively.

Flashbang Bind

If you want to use the flashbang automatically by clicking a key, here’s how you can set up the flashbang bind in CS:GO:

  1. Press the “~” key to launch the developer console
  2. Input bind “key” “use weapon_flashbang”
  3. Press “Enter”
  4. Now you can use the flashbang any time you click your selected key

Just like our previous example, you need to define what key you will use for this bind. For example, let’s say you want to use the “x” key for this purpose, then you’d need to input the following via the developer console:  bind “x” “use weapon_flashbang”. Press “Enter” and you will be able to use the flashbang any time you click “x”.

Smoke Bind

Now let’s talk about the smoke grenade bind, because it’s one of the most useful grenades in CS:GO, especially if you’re a fan of fragging or clutching. Here’s how you can set up this bind:

  1. Press the “~” key to launch the developer console
  2. Input bind “key” “use weapon_smokegrenade”
  3. Press “Enter”
  4. Now you can use the smoke grenade any time you click your selected key

Let’s say you want to use the smoke grenade any time you click the “K” key, then you’d need to input the following via the console: bind “k” “use weapon_smokegrenade”. Press “Enter” and you will be able to use the smoke any time you click “k”.

Incendiary (Molotov) Bind

When we talk about CS:GO utility, it’s impossible to dismiss the molotov and incendiary grenade, because they play a crucial role in strategies and tactics, especially in the competitive realm. If you want to set up a molotov or incendiary bind, here’s how:

  1. Press the “~” key to launch the developer console
  2. Input bind “key” “use weapon_molotov;use weapon_incgrenade”
  3. Press “Enter”
  4. Now you can use the molotov or incendiary grenade by clicking your favorite key

It’s pretty easy. If you want to use the molotov or incendiary grenade by clicking the “X” key, you just need to input the following via the developer console: bind “x” “use weapon_molotov;use weapon_incgrenade”. Press “Enter”, and you will be able to use any of these grenades any time you click “x”.

Decoy Bind

Although not as sexy as the molotov, HE or flashbang, the decoy grenade plays a crucial role in CS:GO, especially if you’re a rifler and entry fragger. Therefore, if you want to set up a bind for this grenade, here’s how you can do it:

  1. Press the “~” key to launch the developer console
  2. Input bind “key” “use weapon_decoy”
  3. Press “Enter”
  4. Now you can use the decoy any time you click your selected key

For example, if you want to use the decoy by clicking the “L” key, all you need to do is to input the following via the developer console: bind “L” “use weapon_decoy”. Easy.

How Many Bind Grenades Should You Set Up In CS:GO?

It’s up to you, and depending on your gameplay style. You shouldn’t set up a bind for every single grenade in CS:GO if you don’t really need it, especially when you can use your keys to execute other commands that might be more useful for your needs and goals.

However, if you’re new and you haven’t defined your role in CS:GO yet, we recommend you to set up binds for the following grenades: HE grenade, smoke grenade and molotov/incendiary grenade.

As you accumulate more experience, and identify your gameplay style, you will be able to tell what grenade binds you need and which ones you don’t need at all.

Conclusion

Now you know how to set up all the available grenade binds in CS:GO, and hence we invite you to play around with them, so you can get familiar with them to start using nades effectively in the game.
