How To Moan In CS:GO: Step by Step Tutorial

While this doesn’t serve any functional purpose in CS, it’s a pretty fun trick to do when playing with friends on your own private server or Practice matches. And this is why we have created this guide, to teach you how to moan in CS:GO.

We are going over the requirements to moan in CS:GO, how to create the CSGO moan bind and use it, along with answers about if doing this could get you banned.

Without anything more to add, let’s start!

Requirements to Moan in CS:GO

To moan in CS:GO, you need 3 things: the developer console, activating the use of cheat-protected commands and admin rights.

Here’s how to activate the developer console easily:

  1. Open CS:GO
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Click on “Game”
  4. Navigate to the option to activate the developer console
  5. Set it to “Yes”

Now the developer console is available, and to launch it, you just need to click “~” (tilde). And here’s how you can activate the use of cheat commands:

  1. Press “~” to open console
  2. Input sv_cheats 1
  3. Click “Enter”
  4. Now you can use the CSGO moan bind without restrictions

Finally, you need admin rights. You can accomplish it by either setting up your own private server, or during Practice matches. Because the “sv_cheats 1” command, as well as the moan bind, won’t work on public servers, because cheat-protected commands aren’t allowed.

Everything is ready – let’s see how you can moan in CS:GO at any moment by using the corresponding bind.

Creating the CSGO Moan Bind to Moan At Will

To be able to moan at will in CS:GO, you need to create the bind, and here’s how you can do it:

  1. Press “~” to open console
  2. Input bind “your-key” “playerradio deathcry moan”
  3. Click Enter
  4. Now you can moan in CS:GO every time you click your selected key

Evidently, you need to use a spare key you aren’t using for executing another command. For example, if you wanted to use “O” for this purpose, you’d have to input the following: bind “O” “playerradio deathcry moan”. Now every time you click O, your character will moan.

If you wish to keep this configuration, you can add the bind to your autoexec file, or to your preferred .cfg file, depending on your preferences. We also have a tutorial on how to add specific commands to your autoexec or preferred .cfg file, we recommend you to check it out.

In fact, we recommend you to create a separate .cfg file for these purposes, because as we have already mentioned, you won’t be able to moan on public CS:GO servers and Matchmaking.

Can You Get Banned for Moaning in CS:GO?

No, you won’t get banned for moaning in CS:GO. However, since you need to input “sv_cheats 1” to use the CS2 moan bind, you can use this trick only on your private server and Practice matches because the vast majority of public servers .- especially MM servers – don’t allow cheat commands.

Valve decided to restrict the use of this command and bind because it can disrupt the gameplay experience for the rest of players, especially if it’s spammed by a toxic user, just like we see every day at non-Prime matches: players screaming on the mic and insulting others.

If you try to use it on a public server such as the MM servers, regardless of the game mode, you won’t be able to get “sv_cheats 1” to work. You can go ahead and try it, but it won’t execute. And as a result, you won’t get banned just for attempting to activate cheat commands and use the moan bind.

So if you’re just using it on your private server and Practice matches, you have nothing to worry about: using the moan command is 100% safe and fun. You can use it as many times as you wish with no consequences at all.

Does the Moan Bind Also Work in CS2?

Yes, it works just like in CS:GO. If you’re already playing CS2, you can use the same instructions from this page and it will work on your private server and Practice matches. Just make sure to create the bind correctly, input “sv_cheats 1” beforehand and that’s it, you’ll be able to moan at any given time by clicking your selected key.

Conclusion

This is all for this quick guide. Now you know how to moan in CS:GO and CS2 by creating a bind for the command, and what the restrictions are: only for private servers and Practice matches.
