How To Copy Someones Crosshair In CS2

How To Copy Crosshair CS2

Counter-Strike is a game revolving around aiming, making your crosshair your best friend. A good crosshair is essential to see the screen properly, as well as aim at your opponents precisely.

The crosshair is a very important tool, but the beauty is that there is no “perfect crosshair” in the game. A crosshair entirely comes down to personal preference, so you’ll have to dig deep and go through dozens of crosshairs before you find the perfect one.

One of the best ways to find a good crosshair is to copy the crosshair of others. You might see someone playing and take interest in their crosshair, then the next step is to copy it! Let’s go over four different ways of how to copy crosshair CS:GO.

Copying Crosshair In A Match

Let’s say you’re in the middle of a Premier mode match, and notice that your friend or teammate has a really cool-looking crosshair you’d like to try out. Fortunately, Valve has implemented a “Copy Crosshair” feature that can be used in the middle of the match.

To copy someone in your game’s crosshair and try it for yourself, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the scoreboard by holding your “TAB” key or whatever it is bound to.
  2. Next, left-click the name of the player you are looking for.
  3. A bunch of options will pop up on your screen. At the bottom-right corner, click “Copy Crosshair.”

After completing all the steps above, the game will automatically copy the player’s exact crosshair and apply it to your game immediately.

Copying Crosshair Through Crosshair Code

If you’re stuck in Silver or Gold Nova, there’s a good chance the crosshairs of your teammates aren’t fancy enough for you to copy. However, there are a group of players that can always inspire you with the best crosshairs in the game – professional players.

If you watched a professional match or a live stream, you might be interested in a specific player’s crosshair. Fortunately, copying their crosshair is extremely easy nowadays with the crosshair code.

Every crosshair in the game has a unique code that can be imported to your game and applied immediately.

Here is how you can copy a crosshair using the code:

  1. Look for the desired crosshair code and copy it to your clipboard.
  2. Launch Counter-Strike and go to your Settings menu.
  3. Scroll down to the “Crosshair” section.
  4. Click on the “Share or Import” button.
  5. Paste the crosshair code in the text box provided.
  6. Finally, click the “Import” button.

Once you have imported the crosshair, the crosshair will be applied to your game immediately. Conversely, you can also copy your own crosshair code and share it to your friends and have them perform the same procedure.

How To Find Crosshair Code

Generally, crosshair codes must be shared for people to find them. If you see a professional player or streamer’s crosshair, the best thing you can do is to Google their crosshairs and hope a code is available.

There are multiple websites such as https://csdb.gg that provide players with crosshair codes of the best players in the world. Make sure to peep the “Pro Settings” section on our website to find crosshair codes of professional players and streamers.

Copying Crosshair Through Workshop Map

Though Valve has implemented convenient features such as the “Copy Crosshair” button and the crosshair code to copy someone else’s settings, it can be quite a pain to manually look for crosshairs, copy them, and test them out one-by-one.

Fortunately, community member crashz has created a workshop map designed to help players choose and test out crosshairs in an instant. This workshop map is completely free to download.

How To Download and Play crashz’ Crosshair Generator

Before you can try out the map and utilize its features, you must first download it from the Steam Community Workshop.

Here is a step-by-step guide of how you can download and play the map:

  1. Find the crashz’ Crosshair Generator map on the Steam Workshop by using this link.
  2. Once you are on the map page, click on the “Subscribe” button that is colored green.
  3. The map will begin downloading by itself on your Steam client.
  4. When the map is finished downloading, restart Counter-Strike.
  5. Now, launch Counter-Strike and then go to the “Play” section.
  6. Go to “Workshop Maps” and then select the crashz’ Crosshair Generator map.

If you follow the steps thoroughly, you should load into the map perfectly fine.

Using crashz’ Crosshair Generator Features

Now that you are on the map, let’s briefly explain what you can expect.

First, you will be greeted with a screen that allows you to change your crosshair settings immediately. You can adjust the length, thickness, gap, outline, dot, and color of your crosshair by simply shooting it with a weapon.

If you turn around, there will be a board of the crosshairs of the best players in the world, categorized by their professional teams. Alternatively, there is also a board full of content creators, streamers, and influencers in case you like someone’s crosshair from a YouTube video.

If you want to try to copy any one of these crosshairs, you can do so by shooting the desired one. Once you have shot at a particular crosshair, that crosshair will immediately be applied to your game for testing.

Finally, you will also get to see the “Crosshair Manager” section. The Crosshair Manager section has a handful of useful buttons you would certainly love to use:

  • Default Crosshair: Clicking this button will reset your crosshair to the default crosshair.
  • Restore Crosshair: Clicking this button will revert all your changes and restore your crosshair back to the original one you started with.
  • Show Crosshair Code: Clicking this button will show you the crosshair code of the crosshair you are currently using.
  • Show Crosshair Commands: Clicking this button will show you the full list of crosshair console commands that make up the crosshair you are currently using.

Copying Crosshair Through Console Commands

As we have briefly stated just above, you can use console commands to customize your own crosshair.

There are a handful of crosshair commands that make up a crosshair, allowing you to customize a specific aspect of it instead of copying the entire crosshair like the crosshair code does.

For example, you see a crosshair and like its thickness. Instead of copying the whole crosshair, you can use a console command to only adjust the thickness.

Here is a list of basic crosshair commands you can copy:

  • cl_crosshaircolor [Value] – This command is used to change the color of your crosshair.
  • cl_crosshairstyle [Value] – This command is used to change the style of your crosshair.
  • cl_crosshairsize [Value] – This command is used to change the size of your crosshair.
  • cl_crosshairgap [Value] –  This command is used to change the gap of your crosshair.
  • cl_crosshairdot [Value] – This command is used to change the dot of your crosshair.
  • cl_crosshairthickness [Value] – This command is used to change the thickness of your crosshair.
