mp_deathcam_skippable Command Help & Examples

The kill cam feature is made for the fun CS game modes, like deathmatch or casual match. However, there are lots of players of the Counter-Strike 2 game who don’t want to watch the kill cam after they die.

The kill cam shows the last 8 seconds of gameplay leading up to your death and an additional second after, totalling 9 seconds of watching a recap of the enemy player’s actions. Moreover, you may even be able to hear the steps of enemy players that you couldn’t hear before you were killed. Whilst this tool can be pretty interesting and useful, it may be that you simply don’t want to see it.

mp_deathcam_skippable Example

  • mp_deathcam_skippable 0

This command makes the death cam unskippable.

  • mp_deathcam_skippable 1

This command makes the death cam skippable, which is the default setting.

CS GO Killcam Conclusion

While the kill cam thing might not be a problem for everyone, it is a source of annoyance for some – but the great news is that you don’t have to live (or die) with it.

Simply log into your game, open up the console commands, switch the 1 to a 0 to turn off the death cam and you never have to watch yourself die again!
